****ing hell I'm going to stop using location services, this lot have tracked him down to his ****ing front door! At one point they were talking about sending stuff to him, pizzas, male strippers... I got in an argument with two or three Brighton fans the other day on Twitter... Not doing that again.

Very interesting development at QPR tonight. The reason Warnock was sacked was because the board felt they'd be relegated under his command. That would have been disastrous for the club, as their 18,000 capacity ground doesn't earn enough in gate receipts to be able to pay say Barton and Wright-Phillips' wages. They need the Premier League money to be able to pay their squad. Imagine how much the blue few were ****ing away with players like Utaka on nearly £100k a week and gates of barely 20,000.

Bit of perspective for them, Giorgios Samaras is a big player for them. Look up his record at City.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry at the Hooiveld comments.

We got a good deal for him though didn't we? At the very least, he didn't go to those cheating ****s Derby.
-
Jelavic? All I've heard of him is he'd be very expensive.
-
He was third top scorer in the league in 2009-10, 19 in 35 league appearances. Not bad, but would he be first choice with us? Not certain by any means. Still don't buy the 'statement of intent, he'll get us out of the Champions and keep us in the Premier League' bit though. For that matter, does any player guarantee that?

If you can call Piquionne a striker. I find it hard to.

Sheffield Wednesday through, they're in the fourth round draw. -
Does it? He's never played in the Premier League and has never won promotion from the Championship.

Not sure about this one. Again, can you justify spending what the Record are saying is a minimum on this guy? Really don't know.
-
Guly and Jones upfront. That is a terrifying combination. You'd need a linesman with a bionic arm.

This. A username like that, and a rumour of complete ****e, and you don't expect some criticism? Are you brave or stupid?

A question for the mods about this main board
Crazy Diamond replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
On the contrary, I do agree there is a large section of posters on this forum that are more than happy to just go with the flow and ignore common sense, because to do otherwise would be seen to be, by some, to be not supporting the team. I think that's wrong, and I'm not alone. I personally haven't had an awful lot of stick over that attitude. I don't know what to say really, other than not everyone sits back and takes everything they see in their stride like you may think. Stuff like getting annoyed over a lack of transfers compared to other teams when we're barely eight days into the window? I think that's a little rash. There are always going to be different ways of going about business, we have a very different policy to say Leicester, and look where we are compared to them right now. It's also naive to think that stuff isn't going on in the background or hasn't been going on already. -

Sorry, but I didn't say it had nothing to do with what you've written. You saying that is putting words into my mouth. That's not particularly fair. -

No offence intended Alpine but I've genuinely only noticed that with a handful of posters, you being one of them. There are plenty of people who debate what the club is doing or will point out something negative and don't get yelled at. -

Don't think I'll buy it next year. Steam has ****ed me off far too many times and I've grown quite bored of it. -
Lukas Jutkiewicz.... is he worth signing?
Crazy Diamond replied to david in sweden's topic in The Saints
Maybe Joel Ward's team mates don't try hard enough, if he's setting the benchmark. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice idea, as is a team made up only of Englishmen, but I'd rather have the best possible players featuring for us than a team of local lads or whatever. Messi busts a gut for Barcelona, but he's about as Catalonian as I am. Which brings me back to Lukas - I really don't believe he's the best option we've got. The club are looking outside the Championship for talent and it's done us no harm yet. I hope they continue to do so. As long as they do that, there are a higher number of options and there's going to be better quality too.
