Sorry but this wasn't a request for a psychiatrist. Patronising? It's very quickly becoming that way.

What I really like about PhilippineSaint is that he never brags.

On around about Boxing Day I'd found I'd put on six pounds over Christmas, and feeling absolutely disgusted with myself decided to Dukan my way out of trouble. Been on it since around about the 27th let's say, and as of this morning I've lost ten pounds. I must confess, as there was still a lot of treats left over from Christmas, I had one or two lapses, but the past three days has been 100% protein, with the exception of the Dukan oat bran I'm allowed each day for porridge. Given the last three days have been me 'properly' on the diet, I'll do the attack phase for another week and then move to the next step. I don't feel hungry which is a sign it's going well. 20 minute walk each day and the odd bit of Wii fit has definitely helped.

****ing abysmal. Never known it so bad. Thought Chelsea fans were good. Always singing, doesn't really matter if the chants were recycled crap, name me a unique chant these days?

No foam fingers for the European campaign. I see what you're getting at.

I was under the misapprehension it was two consecutive days, that makes more sense. Still sounds tough though.

Quite ironic given the Italians are the ones who have provided us with coffee, ice cream and indeed pasta for all these years.

Exactly, or to get the best possible personal terms. 'All these clubs want him, you better make him an offer you can't refuse.'

As you say it is straightforward - would have to disagree with the nuts bit though, most are full of lipids. Also egg whites are the purest form of protein you can get, very good for you. Leave the yolk alone, again, pure lipids.

Plenty of tickets left in the Chapel, look around block 13. Very limited elsewhere.

The January 2013 HCDAJFU thread...

I was out of work for a year and that combined with some trouble with my Achilles tendon, flat feet and shin splints, led me to put on some weight. I was eating and doing next to nothing, absolutely no exercise, so it was inevitable. Got onto the Dukan diet which Phil has mentioned, which relies on eating protein alone to begin with, then gradually reintroduces carbs with a bit of exercise each day and it fell off. Lost around a pound a day. Down side is that no carbs basically means no fibre and that can mean only one thing, constipation, but there are ways around that too. I think I lost nine pounds in one week then it slowed down as my body put up resistance. I never went through with the other three phases of the diet and gradually began putting it back on, but it's great because you don't starve yourself, you don't have to count calories, you can eat some very good stuff and feel full. I started on it again yesterday, was down 0.4 on my BMI this morning which isn't great given my previous success stories. That said, I'm doing it by the book this time and even buying special Dukan cut oats which you are allowed for porridge each day. Would recommend it to anyone - I certainly couldn't starve myself for two days as per the 5:2 diet, as envious as I am of the results.

I doubt his agent would come out and say we're the only ones interested. I don't think that's particularly newsworthy.

I've got old tastes in music for my age, I'm 23, and nothing out there at the moment appeals to me. I don't think that will ever change. I've always like Bowie but never really paid him that much attention - as I say, I heard some more stuff of his the other day and got curious. I don't know if I'm going to any 'great lengths' as such, just curious as to what people think. I do like the Berlin trio stuff and music around that time and of that genre, but I also like his earlier stuff.
-
Thoughts? I've had his best of for years now but never really got into him. Saw a couple of programmes about him on BBC Four and given my need for new music thought I'd check him out further. My friend recommended the 'Berlin trio' to me, they're not bad. I think 'Low' is my favourite of those three, but I also quite like some of 'Let's Dance.' I've got 'Low', '"Heroes"', 'Lodger', 'Station to Station', 'Let's Dance', and 'The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars.' Haven't really listened to much of them apart from 'Low' and 'Let's Dance.'

I can see him scoring a few headers in the new 'West Ham Way', i.e HOOF.

We between 2003 and 2004 would be a good example. In the summer 04 window we signed rubbish with the exception of Crouch, and even then people thought he wasn't much cop. Everyone else strengthened, a contributing factor to our relegation.

Danny Mills just said we're a poor side. Shall we send him a turd in the post?

Said on another thread that you write QPR and Reading off at your peril. Told you so.

Yes you've certainly proved your own point, haven't you?

He also drinks beer. He's a disgrace.

Had Pilchards not mentioned the smoking thing, I do wonder where some people would be. As for 'doesn't look bothered' - would you not want Dimitar Berbatov at our place, or Cristiano Ronaldo? They don't look bothered. Mourinho for manager? Never - he never looks 'bothered.'
-
Quite amusing, those theories that Nigel doesn't rate him, and won't ever pick him... Because today he was picked against a free scoring team. I won't ever deny he had a shaky start but some people do spout utter b*llocks on here.

Okay, so how? Neither of us have many trophies and have probably spent around about the same amount of time in the top flight. We might edge it on European competitions but it's not as if we've ever done much there. That's if you want to measure it on those terms. As has been said, no one really wins when you try and compare club sizes.
