Been on the cruise phase of the Dukan diet for a week, I've lost just shy of a stone. Not finding it hard to avoid carbs at all, I must say.

Still says 'eeerm' before each answer though. Merson was out of order. But I really don't care what he thinks. Would you take life advice from him?

PICTURE: Nigel Adkins' leaving message to Saints squad
Crazy Diamond replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
What to add? It sums the guy up, a class act all the way. This is a bad day for the Club. We've let one of the brightest young managers in English football go. He'll get another club and he'll do well. We'll have to watch. -
You might as well ask what would happen if we had won any game.
-
Different supporters, individuals, less likely to have an agenda. A spread of opinions. You don't know if they're fully up to date unless you ask. Plus in the edit suite, you'll have ten vox pops, you pick out the top three. Those three will have a decent knowledge or else there's not much point in using them. Seems much more sensible to me.
-
I would rather have vox pops, yes. Glad you find it amusing.

Solent Phone-in from 6pm-7pm - on Cortese/Adkins/Pochettino

I saw it. It was below par for your standards. -

This. -
Yeah. Why not? If they want to be interviewed. I say he's done wrong by representing a group of Saints fans, because at the end of the day, it is used as 'this is the feeling of Southampton fans' rather than 'this is the feeling of this group of individuals represented by this man.' I have no interest in representing anyone's views but my own.
-
I object to anyone that claims to represent fans - on the basis they do not represent me, and I am a fan. The media have an alternative, and that is vox pops. That is what was done on South Today at lunchtime. Individuals give their own individual opinions. I've got my own voice thanks.

Oh for f*ck's sake, we've already got a bunch of retards running the club, now we've got someone making the fans look like it too? Brilliant.

Pochettino: "there's no need necessarily to bring in new players before the window closes"
-
Interview and presser with Pochettino is not live - will be played out in part after 5pm on @BBCRadioSolent & at length on Monday night From Adam Blackmore.

It hasn't begun yet. You can tell, media are still arriving.

"At Southampton, that is an advantage he does not have. Communication will naturally be harder as he does not speak English. Pochettino has vision but, after the sacking of Adkins, he will have to get results too. And fast." http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2013/jan/18/southampton-mauricio-pochettino?CMP=twt_gu Sid Lowe, Englishman Spanish football expert.

Quite the opposite. Let's sack a man who knows this squad inside out, has delivered two promotions, overseen visible improvements in individuals as well as performances, got us moving from the relegation zone, and replace him with a man who cannot speak English, has little knowledge of the English game, and has to learn everything about the team and the Club before May. It's a f*cking BACKWARDS step.

Yeah close to the south west mainline is a priority, definitely. Budget I would imagine is £125 per week per person, so £625 a week all in. Again, I know Balham and Streatham a bit, I worked in Crystal Palace for four months last year. Not so keen on that area, I'd prefer a bit further west. Closer to London the better, not really looking at anything further out than say Wimbledon. I'm very wary about going through agents, I'm looking mainly at ads on Gumtree etc, so if anyone can recommend places to look at, please do share. Clapham is definitely an area to consider. Full of Australians, I'm surrounded by them at work too... That's great, cheers Minty. We're often forgetting about bills including council tax.

This is a disgrace.

Thanks guys, very helpful. South west in general - Wandsworth, Wimbledon, Southfields, Acton, etc etc. Indeed - at the moment I get into Waterloo, get one bus straight to my office's front door. I used to live in Motspur Park, so know the area very well. The main consideration is my housemate who will be commuting to Surbiton, the rest of us are all central London.
-
Yes, Alex Crook is reporting it, and the rumour accounts are passing it off as their own info. 'FFS', as the kids say.
-
I liked what I saw of him. If the opportunity presents itself I'd like to see what he'd be like in the Premier League. At the moment however with our forwards doing as well as they are, it's going to be a long old wait.
-
Aaron Martin has never played a Premier League game. You're willing to write him off without so much as a glimpse of a chance? Shall we assume that Forren isn't up to it, as he's never played at this level? I'm glad you're in an imaginary football manager world. Stay there.

Your most unexpected event of this season, so far?
Crazy Diamond replied to Halo Stickman's topic in The Saints
I thought the Fulham game was it for him, so yes, this would probably be mine. -
Morning all. You may remember I was looking at moving to London a few months ago. Good news is that I now have four friends in employment in the capital and all are eager to move, so we're thinking of doing some viewings next week. We're looking for a five bedroom property in south west or central London as we need to get to Waterloo quite easily. I've found a few places, it's just a matter of organising viewings. Other than as a student, I have no rental experience, and wondered what advice you'd have. What should I watch out for, what to expect in fees, what's reasonable, what isn't, all that jazz. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
