  1. A lot of clubs are following suit and ditching the reserves. Burnley did it the other week, in favour of the developmental squad. I think it's the future, personally. The fact that clubs choose their own opponents, dates and times etc, helps out a great deal I would imagine.
  2. Which reminds me, Pogrebnyak, that big name (let's not confuse big name with complicated to pronounce or spell name) for Reading. Fulham fans weren't bothered in the slightest that he didn't sign for them permanently. He'll get a few goals I'm sure but is a few goals worth breaking your wage structure? Don't think so, personally.
  3. Balance it out. Did he do more harm or more good? Harm. Ability wise how good is he? Not very good. Hence why I don't like him.
  4. This isn't a thread about someone who may have signed though is it. Have you read the title? HCDAJFU. Not 'this person has signed. Read on for details'.
  5. I don't care who it is, who they think they are, if they're schizophrenic, whatever. Whoever you are, just stop it. No one believes you.
  6. No no no no no no no no no no no no no. He can ****ing well stay in Newcastle. Him and McGoldrick are the stuff of nightmares. I'm never going to forgive nor forget his woeful performances - especially given that he constantly bloody moaned when he wasn't being played and was awful when he did play.
  7. Still haven't forgiven Leon Best for being ****e in his time with us, or for the own goal in the play-off semi-final, or the penalty miss in the same game. Would rather he didn't join us in all honesty...
  8. Do they still talk about Burley's tactics in the 1 - 0 win over S****horpe?
  9. He's got a pair of eyes (I presume) and that's about all you need. Some very, very sad people on Twitter. Efforts to cover it up are just as bad.
  10. Don't really know what the big deal is about Surman. Yes, he came through the academy and was a decent player, but is he really someone to get misty eyed over? I fear it's another case of Saints fan = must have him, must be a good player. I'd also like to think that he might not even get in our side anyway.
  11. Naismith and Whittaker have left Rangers. Perhaps Davis will follow.
  12. Oh Everton. No money to spend, yet when they do find it, they spend it on a walking injury.
  13. Some good stories here. Glad I posted the video!
  14. That was my understanding as well. We could just ask him of course.
  15. I agree, it is. In this case it's Pilchards though and he knows a thing or two. When Burley first took over he managed to film his first training session and get it to us on Saints Forever.
  16. Oh blimey, no, my mistake. 20 years before I was born.
  17. One for the historians or those of us who like our football history. Documentary here on Sir Alf Ramsay, in which they discuss his time at Saints. Ted Bates is interviewed. I've tried to nail the exact time of when we feature in the video but it's temperamental from experience - if it doesn't work, fast forward to 7:35. You should be greeted by a red and white striped SFC flag and players practicing in what looks like the Dell's car park (I could be wrong, this was filmed 30 years before I was born, 1969). Features interviews with a few ex-Saints (apologies, I don't know who they are!) and his old landlady from his house on Milton Road.
  18. Amir Zaki. Remember him?
  19. Readership figures and sales figures say more than I would ever need to.
  20. I'll take Hubschman instead. Apart from one time when he just clattered his opponent rather than going for the ball, he's a good midfielder.
  21. I don't really read the newspapers, but then that's typical of the situation the industry is in. Hardly anyone reads papers these days and there can't be much life left in them.
  22. Didn't read the crossword, was too busy wiping my arse with that page. It's about all the Guardian is useful for.
