I think that it all comes down to the effort the player puts in to training. AP said that Holmes had really worked hard in training and had impressed him. It would seem that Saga has done the same, to be rewarded with a place on the bench. AP is clearly running a meritocracy, which as we all know, is the best way to run a football team.
