We need an 'old head' in midfield who can provide a link to the strikers

http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/4855457.Pardew_makes_move_for_Stock/ Saints have made a move to sign Doncaster Rovers skipper Brian Stock, it was revealed tonight. But Southampton boss Alan Pardew claimed that two clubs could not agree on a fee for the 28-year-old midfielder, pictured. With Saints captain Dean Hammond suffering Achilles damage in today’s draw at Millwall and out for at least two weeks Pardew may well be looking to strengthen his midfield with two weeks left of the transfer window. Stock returned to the Doncaster side today in their 2-1 Championship win over Watford after being out of action since September with an ankle injury. Born in Winchester it is understood that Stock would welcome a move back to the south coast. But Pardew said today that Saints would not match Doncaster’s price tag for the former Cherries star. No direct quotes from AP but the Echo would be in even more mire if he had said nothing along those lines.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/d/doncaster/8466149.stm O'Driscoll told BBC Radio Sheffield: "It's just a ruse to sell papers. Nobody's contacted me from Southampton. "You [should] get a direct quote from me or a direct quote from [saints manager] Alan [Pardew], not just write things that upset us people and players." Is that a lol at O'Driscoll?

Finally got my BoB Blu Ray boxset back today. It had sat in the back of my boss' car all that time. What a ****.

Stu, I agree with most of what you say. However, I'm not sure that we will get to the JPT final........ or the FA Cup QF. MK Dons and Ipswich play us on the back of good wins.

Those stats are woeful. Liebherr out!

Can we be truly successful with Morgan AND Lallana
Block 5 replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
Of course we can! Every single manager in this league and probably most CCC managers would sell their own mothers to have Morgan AND Lallana in their team. You've seen them play so you know what they are capable of. What we need is to ensure that when Lallana goes on his runs there are options available to him. It's no good going on defence splitting attacks if the end product support isn't there. We need to give Morgan more time on the ball so he can pick his passes. Come on Delldays, you've seen him pass the ball from one side of the park to the other with laser guided accuracy that would put the US military to shame. We have to help him into space so he has a little more time on the ball; when he has both he is the best passer of the ball that we have. Can we be truly successful WITHOUT Lallana and Morgan in the team? -
I think Leeds have lost a little bit of their fizz....... but we still won't get anywhere near them. I reckon we'll be lucky to get to Wembley, but if we do we could put one over on them.

Interestingly, there are no comments from AP on the OS or the BBC website. Did he give a post match interview or was he too busy kicking the shyte out of those responsible for conceding in such a sorry fashion?
-
Don't get your hopes up mate. MK Dons thrashed Hartlepool (a team who are above us in the league) 5-0.
-
Is it time to forget about the play offs? We HAVE to BEAT teams above us.

Noobs.

I'm not sure who comes off looking worse from this...... Chesney or the city of fish fiddlers.

Would you sign Papa Waigo N'Diaye on a permanent basis?
