A couple of years ago, we were up in North Yorkshire and happened to stop in Goathland village, which as some will know is the actual village that they use on the Heartbeat series.My son who was about seven then and myself were proudly displaying the stripes as has to be done when out of town, went to the village stores for some drinks, when no sooner had we walked through the door than the woman behind the counter shouted "we don't serve Scummers in here!" I was horrified that this far north and the smell of fish had drifted up to the moors.I had thought that we must be near Grimsby but then realised the woman was the owner of the shop and a Skate and had recently moved north and bought the shop.She took great delight in the usual blue few comments about our demise. It turned out she was originally from Hedge End.This further infuriated me as Hedge End is nowhere near skateland and happens to be where I used to live. If anyone happens to travel that way in the future please give the old bag suitable grief. I could never enjoy Heartbeat again in the same way as before, knowing that a a Skate owned the shop.

Totally agree. The mood has somewhat changed in a very short space of time. Overall good performance,but the weaknesses are there to be seen.The depth in the squad is short and there are limited options with what we have available.Our striking options are obvious but I think Patterson picked up a knock and that just makes the striking situation even more desperate to get someone of quality in quickly.If we address these issues this week then the season looks VERY promising.

No one has mentioned yet, that in the breaking news on SSN the reporter mentioned that the FL were due to meet on Monday to discuss the issue regarding the points and the insistance that we sign the agreement not to sue. Surely Mark Fry will now extend the exclusivety period until after the FL meeting on monday and see if they back down?
