Having a differing opinion,or not conforming with the majority appears to be a cardinal sin. If you do,be prepared for personal abuse as opposed to rational debate. No flexibility of thought with many on here.
-
So you don't agree with anything in what i say,i'm sure i will cope. My previous post has legitamate and valid points, get over it. So unfortunate so many are slightly blinkered and set in there ways. Every other opinion is wrong if it does not conform. That is the reason this forum is below par.

Very well put.

And let the excuses begin...Haye had a broken little toe. Haye got what he deserved...nothing. Time to eat humble pie after all the bollix spouted by Haye.

It was never an 'amazing' job, what would have been amazing would be not gaining promotion with that squad and resources. And reference the 'pressure'well that is going to be nothing compared to what he will have to deal with this coming season. It was league one, many state we have a championship side already, that points to the conclusion we should have gained promotion.Except we did not perform as one,we looked very ordinary mostly. The quality of the players, many who were already here, carried us through to the end of the season, not nessessarily superb managerial nous. The test will be this season when we play in a more competative league, with sides equally if not better than us. Then Adkins will have to dig deep and get something extra out of the squad, only then can a judgment be made on his stature within the game.He has achieved very little thus far.Reallty check NickG please. Nothing revolutionary in my beliefs at all.Just an legitimete and valid opinion. He instilled some positive things in the squad, agreed, but he is not beyond reproach as you make out. He had it easy last season and how you can base that on your assumption he is the golden boy, still amazes me. But i don't think you are a fool,it's your opinion, just like tthe above is mine. You carry on with the personal insults if you think it enhances your belief.

No,just flabergasted at what you post sometimes. But it wasn't just the football league, you were comparing him to top flight managers also on occasions, coupled with some table or something. All very good putting stats next to names but does not put flesh on the bones.

New shop to open....and Gadymak obviously still owns some land then. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/news/local/east-hampshire/new_fans_store_set_to_open_at_pompey_1_2827381?commentspage=0

OMG. Especially to your closing sentence. Actually you have changed stance, which is something i suppose, originaly you have been quoting some stats that state he was only second best to Sir Alex Ferguson. Look at the bigger picture, for gods sake. And put it into context if you can, please.

Perhaps it the fact that Fergie got Posh to play with the width, pace and flair that was so very much touted by Adkins yet failed to deliver. Perhaps he should have adopted the same style as us..invariably hoof ball for at least 45 per game.Such a shame considering the technically better players we had playing a weaker opposition. They never played to their full potential consistantly, either game by game of half by half even.
-
I applaude you stalwart defence of Adkins on virtually everthing he says and does. I really do,but it is somewhat blinkered in my view, which shows on many threads. We have differing views,i'm sure we will survive. Just because you do disagree it does not make my view any less valid, imo.
-
This was one of my concerns when we lost Pardew and gained Adkins......Pardew would have had a tad more 'draw' than Adkins, imo. I will take my hat off to Adkins if he can tempt some fairly high class aquisitions.
-
I agree. You would be daft to turn down the possibility of playing for two managers who have pedigree in the top flight, either home or abroad, that are at clubs making a concerted effort to get promotion this season. Or would you chose a newly promoted side who have yet to show real intent and the possibility of selling a prized asset, coupled with a inexperienced manger at this level.
-
With Fergies' resources to hand he did 'very' well to get them promoted. With What Adkins had at his disposal he he got the job done pretty well. Let's keep things in prospective and in context relevant to the achievement made, and how the task was made a little easier for some than others. Back on topic...good news about Lambert.

On july the 16th,same day as the Skates play Chelsea. Should be interesting to say the least. The first demo at the mosque coincided with a Chelsea tuesday night game - coincidence? http://uaf.org.uk/2010/11/violent-edl-protest-targets-portsmouth-mosque/ "I know lads, lets go demo outside that mosque which is right near Fratton park, then go watch the game and for a giggle lets go back afterwards" http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/news/local/east-hampshire/police_operation_to_keep_peace_as_english_defence_league_marchers_protest_in_portsmouth_1_2812672

He has done reasonably well,i will agree.
-
If true,£750k appears a good deal. But does he really want to come to SFC?
-
You are not alone in this thought. Well besides i have 'some' respect for what he has achieved.
-
Everytime i see that picture it turns my stomach,i should just find it funny...but to me it reminds me of some of the darkest hours in Saints history. We were run by clowns that nearly ruined us.

Bloody hell all this cloak and dagger stuff over a sodding football shirt. The fuss that is being made, what with the secrecy and all that, the club are setting themselves up for a fall if it proves one of the least popular reincarnations of a striped shirt. It is not a matter of national security FFS,just sell it for gods sake...and let the people see what they are buying. Laughable. I do wonder, what with Sibleys 'read between the lines' tweet that there may well have been a balls up somewhere along the line.

I remain young and virile,as opposed to old and sterile.

I will be 44 on the 20th of this month.

I don't think Riise is a nessessary signing, don't think he will bring any significant improvement too the squad and we have employed the services of players in the past who were once exceptionally good only to be very mediocre in a saints shirt.A signing in this position is not a priority. Once again having a differing view is deemed a crime it appears.
-
I don't think we will see Alex in a Saints shirt again. Just need too ensure we get the best deal possible. I still believe it is his father pushing this deal through and not nessesarily Alex. Perhaps we need this sale to fund incoming deals.
-
Ah yes but i like others,i'm sure, thought he could do a fine job as centre half in league one. Big diference to Riise, imo.
-
Well, not only do they need to get players in to make the numbers up they now need a new member of the coaching staff,Ian Woan has just left to join Watford as assisstant manager.
