  1. Am i the only one that would not be overly excited/impressed if we signed an ageing player on what would be rediculous wages? Riise,no thankyou.
  2. It's the day we officially link up with the aap3 sponsorship, probably no more than that, coupled with the hopes of the manager for the coming season.
  3. This place entertains me..that is all i ask. I don't know any of you but a do feel an affiliation with this 'community' which i think it is....a 'community' Everyone on here has something to offer,be it boring, annoying or just plain pedantic wind up merchant stuff. Each has our own opinion, which makes it great, imo. I genuinely thankyou all for making things seem a liitle more rosey during dire times. If i could afford it i would by you all a pint.....but i can't ...so i won't. I do not regeret finding this place one iota. Sometimes i need a pick me up,i can be assured of coming on here and finding some absolutely brilliant wide ranging views on everything under the sun. Take a step back one second and see what we have...something bloody marvellous. We may all be seperate entities on an internet forum, but we all have someting in common...we love SFC.The world would be a boring place if wee were all the same. It 'aint so bad, imo.
  4. More speculative re-hashing bollix?...or some truth in it?...... http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/9110424.Gunners__sights_are_on_Alex/?ref=twt
  5. There is only one place you need to visit,Hooters.Good food, good drinks,and...... http://www.hooters.to/nottingham/menu.php
  6. Once again your views on me are extremely polarised, pretty much like your views on Adkins...like others you have no middle ground, but i enjoy the banter. This will be the most interesting feature this season,Can Adkins cut it in this league. No comparison to when he was here with Scunny. And no comparison to last season. Many nailed their colours to the mast,'he is the best up and coming manager' 'we are lucky to have him.i prefer to sit on the side of 'air of caution' as i have done from the off, this season is the true test,a little out of his comfort zone? This will determine if he is a longterm appointment,or was just someone to get us out of league one.....which is more than possible. Here's hoping i'm wrong,i would truly like to see him finish what he has started....but atleast i have reserved judgement......unlike some. For those that are so certain, from the off, that he is beyond the realms of critisim i hope you are proved correct. To early to predict what the new season will bring, will be a little easier to make a judgement when/if we make signings. Will be interesting to see the calibre of player we recruit. Will tell us alot abouth the state and mindset of SFC as a whole.
  7. I appreciate what he did,he got us promoted...albeit with a squad that should have gained promotion.Job done in my eyes. I expected us to be promoted at the start of the season....we crossed that line. He will have to get alot more out of this squad this season to compete with much stronger opposition. I don't agree with much of the post i have quoted. Anyway, this is a differing topic from the thread title.
  8. It is my opinion, our opinions differ. We are entitled to them. You say he did 'excellent' in a previous post,i totally disagree. Much more of a level playing field this season,we had huge advantages over others last season. This will be the acid test,i hope the outcome is positive.
  9. This is so out of context it beggars belief. He did what was expected,no more no less.with a bloody superb squad for the division we were in. Don't get me started again on the quality of the majority of performances.
  10. This was excactly the point i was making.
  11. I will give that the same reply as i did on the 'fixtures released' thread.... However,we will be up against a totally different class of opposition with a a much more level playing field interms of quality at our and others disposal. Last season we had a massive advantage over many of our opposition. We should have done well.
  12. I was very tempted to post the same, but thought better of it due to the uproar it would cause amongst those who worship at the feet of Adkins.
  13. Probably had just heard Morrissey or seen the U2 set.
  14. I would have a coronary in the first 30 seconds. I got a hernia line dancing.
  15. I give it 4 mins 'till locked....starting now.
  16. Bloody marvellous.
  17. And Steve MCclaren confirms he wants Maynard and Giles Barnes.
  18. West ham are in for Dale Jennings.
  19. Certainly would be nice. However,we will be up against a totally different class of opposition with a a much more level playing field interms of quality at our and others disposal. Last season we had a massive advantage over many of our opposition. We should have done well.
  20. Poor old 'arry...the greedy tosser........ http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/news/politics/harry_redknapp_loses_bid_to_ditch_cheap_homes_in_southsea_seafront_development_1_2805955
  21. Anyone breaks into my house with the intention of theft or otherwise will get a damn good beating. I will protect what is mine to the hilt, especially when i have my child in my house, you have no idea of what the intruders intentions are. As soon as they cross the threshold uninvited they are a legitimate target for anyone who wants to protect property/family.
  22. Socks and sandals.
  23. Those season ticket sales have made me laugh so bloody loud. The new owners should be really pleased with their purchase....if they have really purchased it at all.
  24. I would be partial to some Jaegermeister.......ok,i will settle for a decent Cider.
  25. This is what gets me so fecking annoyed with the skates,a trivial matter i know,but......... http://www.fansonline.net/portsmouth/mb/view.php?id=354208
