  1. I had this fella down in the HCDAJFU thread. I still think he would be a useful aquisition, but at a sensible price, not the ones being bandied about right now.
  2. Quelle surprise. Perhaps i should 've kept that opinion to myself, must not dispel the myth that we play decent football for long periods.
  3. Meh,playing a friendly, be it Yeovil or otherwise, has no real bearing on the forthcoming campaign. Improving fitness, ironing out training ground techniques, allowing new players to 'gel' with team mates and not getting longterm injuries in the process are the aims.
  4. I wager during the campaign we will here these statments at some point..... 'Broken Metatarsal' These only ever seem to happen in the lead up to a tournament that includes England. 'England off to a tame start and struggle against the minnows of world football' 'Disappointing England return home' 'you can't play Gerrard and Lampard together' Although hopefully these two overated, underperforming international flops will be retired from England by the time the finals in Brazil. 'England players exausted after long permiership campaign' This excuse wheeled out oncemore to protect the little darlings from ridicule.and therefore the opening the whole reduce the teams on the PL debate again. Bless 'em. Sent by my middle finger.
  5. Hence i think we will have a new striker signing in situ by next Saturday.
  6. Because it is so very quiet reference us making signings and something is going to happen right out of the blue. This will be the signing that will make others stand up and take notice.I think Adkins/Cortese are too shrewd to let other clubs around us,Leicester.West Ham,just to name two to steal the headlines with big named signings. I think this grates on Cortese, and he feels duty bound to be up there competing. All of our business is so very discreet that it gives me more encouragement than if we were splashed in the red tops bidding for all and sundry. The wow factor coupled with the 'better watch Southampton next season, they could be up there" is something that the people at the helm thrive on. We are not going to sit idly by and rest on our laurals. Thes are not nesessarily just my own sentiments.Mr Cortese is a very diligant operator and is tireless when in business mode. If we were not to secure the capture of Maynard i would not be surprised to hear substantialy on the subject, of our endevours, at a later date.
  7. I think we are going to get Maynard in time for next Saturday.
  8. Is it wrong to have complete apathy towards England internationals, including the qualifiers and competitions? I'm sure when the time comes i too will be swept along on a tide of enthusiasm and blind belief that 'this will be our year'.Only to have the whole country get behind the squad yet be let down with embarrassing ease. We are crap, uninispiring, overated premadonnas who spout the same pish prior, during and after a tournament. I hope this post comes back to haunt me, however.
  9. Leicester have now bid £4m for Cameron Jerome, apparently.
  10. My 5 yr olds first game was final home game last season. We went with my dad so it was quite special for all of us having three generations there. He loved every minute of it and is really looking forward to this season. Ok it was a promotion party and i have told him it won't be like that week in week out,but he is really excited about going again. We did take a packed lunch as it was expensive enough buying him merchandise and luckily he was not bored one iota. He enjoyed venturing on the pitch and singing along. Very good deal, price wise,as we went into the family section. Have a great day.
  11. Oh,i am fully aware of that, trust me.
  12. Sums it up better than my post. I am quite suprised how many have this opinion,it has been one that has been somewhat muted.
  13. Just a snapshot of opinions of the prospect of this deal, coming from a QPR veiw.... http://www.qprdot.org/viewtopic.php?t=54828&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=15
  14. Reports sugest this morning that BCFC will undoubtably put into admin. Owners assests have been frozen which means player sales are deemed nesessary to continue trading. Thier shares have stopped trading also, they have no major income streams

  16. Adkins walked into a club that was extremely well set up for the campaign in league one. After being in such dissaray i might add, credit must go to his predesessor. This season he will have to mould a side ready to compete in strong NPC. Two different kettles of fish completely. Here's hoping he achieves the same results this season as last, dependant on this, only then will i judge him 'great'/'best'
  17. And some new blood on it's way...... http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/pompey-past/great-matches/pompey_line_up_trio_of_signings_1_2900014

  23. Could'nt agree more.
  24. Plus the copius amount of tickets given away to HMS Collingwood and HMS Sultan on a regular basis. Let's not forget that.
  25. Harbour cancer support, here in Gosport, are still owed monies by PFC. Portsmouth FC disgust me,in every way possible. And defending them is tantamount to condoning their actions.
