Post-Match Reaction: Stoke City 1-2 SAINTS
View From The Top replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Personally I feel Ryan Bertrand deserves special praise today as defensively I thought him flawless. VVD was immense and our support was way better than quite a number of away games I've been to this season. My Stokie friends, of which I have many living up here, have all said that one 1st rendition of OWTS was as good as anything they've heard from away fans this season. As for the ref. I thought the pen decision wrong and, from where I was, the sending off right. Having seen the replays he clearly has a mare and gets them both shockingly wrong. -
Lovren, Alderweireld or van Dijk?

VVD is, IMHO, foooooking awesome. -

Well that was surprisingly easy. -
Never in the plan, not with the my companion, it's too early in the year for him to be tackling the Burway, he's not a climber and I didn't wants to freeze my balls off at the top waiting for him. I had to ride on the front the 100km home into the wind as he was struggling which made it a slow ride, plus we stopped, which I hate doing. Next few weekends will be in The Peaks to get some more climbing in, weather depending and I said this year was a flat/fast year!

Brighton and Palace is certainly a derby. They really don't like each other.
-
It's a derby in geographical terms but just another football match in sporting terms. It's not a hard concept to grasp.
-
He's never quite recovered from that.

It'll be your cleats causing knee pain. Takes me ages getting cleats in the correct position on new shoes.

I've an adult & a U16 ticket available. I can't get out from work early enough to get down and it's the lads options evening as well. You'll have to take both if you want them. My email is st16sfc@gmail.com

Why worried? I've been taking my nearly 14yo home and away since he was 6. When he was small he stood on the seat to see and sung his heart out. How he's lofty enough to see over everyone. WBA is a good & cheap reasonably close one for next season as is Arsenal. Villa is a rip off. Stoke is good value.

I may be in a minority here but I love the way Spurs play football. MP has them playing a brand of football that's brilliantly simple yet wonderfully effective. Leicester play a brand of direct/quick break 442 that plays to their strengths but of the two I prefer the Spurs style. -
It's all on BT Sport. My nipper loves NBA (Golden State Warriors) and I sat down and watched the 3pt and slam dunk competition with him 1st thing this morning and it was rather mental. We go and watch Cheshire Phoenix in the BBL on a semi-regular basis. Not my favourite game but he loves it so dad endures.

He'll be too busy serving cocktails.

A very cold, windy and gnarly century today. I realised how cold when I stripped off for a shower!
-
Blimey.
-
I've just flagged it up with the club I ride with. Reckon a few of us will go over.
-
Now I like the look of that!
-
Pair of us did a very rolling century yesterday, much of it into a brutal headwind. It's fair to say I was utterly ruined at the end of it.

100 milers aren't really that difficult. I do one every weekend. It's just about pace & refueling as you go. If you can ride 50miles you can ride 100, especially if you live where it's flat.
-
Buy an ANT+ stick and get on Zwift. Now I HATE indoor training, or did until I started Zwifting.
-
Plenty of the local clubs have started their reliability rides. Wrekin had theirs last weekend. They are worth doing.

Amstel Gold in April, probably the long route. C2C in a day via "Chase The Sun" in June from Minster-on-Sea in Kent to Burnham-on-Sea in Somerset; 220miles. May head out to The Alps last 1st week of July or The Vosge mountains but I'd sooner do the flat stuff this year after melting in the heat of the high mountains last summer. Lots of road racing, may lay off the crits.

Exactly.

I think I'd stick to Allez Les Bleus!
