  1. Yes I agree and it's the main reason that I really feel we need a CB who has that position nailed on like Fonte does. Could it be Jos? Maybe, but as you say he has his weak points and may be too early to tell.
  2. Thanks Chez. Have always considered you to have a more realistic outlook than some so I trust what you say. Can't say he's ever been my favourite player and I'm surprised he wasn't sold in the summer. How did Jos do? Sounded pretty solid and hope he continues his progress. Also hope he is OK for Saturday though it sounds like Martin could do a job if needed.
  3. Sounds like Jos is aving a great game. Fair play.
  4. And neither did you see them in this case!
  5. But also means: 'The state or fact of being synchronous or simultaneous; synchronism.'
  6. Personally I think that is an unrealistic point haul.
  7. Stop being a WUM Dalek.
  8. Lol. Even I find this whooosh moment from the gooner amusing.
  9. Pretty fair post that. I don't agree with all of it but overall it closely resembles my views. I think the timescale point is very true.
  10. Sigh. You cannot read.
  11. We need a striker to challenge for a first team place. We don't need a backup striker.
  12. A home away from home.
  13. No we really really don't.
  14. That definitely shouldn't be the attitude. We don't need backup.
  15. I think it's much too early to say either way. At the moment we are scoring for fun but down the line we could have a period where we create less, especially if someone gets an injury. I would like to see another option off the bench or pushing for a starting place.
  16. I think that in general players divide opinion but that with recent signings, there has been a majority of opinion one way or the other. Dividing opinion isn't necessarily a negative thing, but it suggests possibly that different fans look for different strengths in a cb.
  17. I think everyone does.
  18. I am fully aware of what a consensus is, thanks for the patronising reply. Looking at the thread, I see some saying that he has improved but is still not of the quality we are looking for, some who think he has been solid so far and some that he is exactly what we need and that we should sign him if he continues the standard he has set so far. I can see there is a consensus that he had improved from the Forest game but otherwise I see a number of differing opinions. I don't see a 'generally accepted opinion' as to his ability and whether he is what we need so far. Obviously that is entirely understandable after just two games but I think the generally accepted opinion of the likes of Lallana and Cork is that they have been great this season? That is what I would call a consensus.
  19. I can see the club's point with this one.
  20. I think that is they key. If we are in a strong position in January, then it will be much easier to persuade one or two quality payers to join us. If we do that then we could really bolster our chance. It's a luxury that the likes of Portsmouth can only dream of .
  21. That is 14!
  22. So you dispute that we have just lost one game in seven and that isn't fantastic? Seriously stop following me around the messageboard. If we only lose one or two of the next seven games, considering how difficult some of them look on paper, that for me will continue to be a fantastic start. In your world that is negative.
  23. Fair enough I wasn't at the game, but I thought that if Forest had been more clinical that they would have scored a load more. There's no doubt in my mind that the next seven will be a sterner test than the seven just gone. Some really difficult teams and tricky away games to negotiate. We will do fantastically well to only lose one or two.
  24. Was really pleased to see Guly get a goal yesterday after some mixed performances this season. When we got relegated, our midfield was the biggest weakness with some shocking players and no leaders in the middle of the park. Now I have to say that it looks one of the strongest units in this division. It's certainly our biggest asset and is allowing us to dominate teams. When Cork was at RB we clearly missed him hugely which just emphasises how important it is to have all the midfielders in place and firing on all cylinders.
  25. Difficult to say but I can certainly see us having a bad result/performance or two. Forest was a very mixed performance (such a shame we were forced to have Cork at RB) and a better team would have finished us off. Luckily our attacking play is so classy that it didn't matter. Burnley v Southampton - DRAW Cardiff v Southampton - LOSS Southampton v Watford - WIN Derby v Southampton - WIN Southampton v West Ham - LOSE Reading v Southampton - WIN Southampton v Middlesbrough - Draw I think which means a dip in form and at least one of those games we will underperform and the likes of west ham will nick a win.
