But one that went behind him dropped to a Forest player which gave them a chance to score. Isn't the same as a powerful clearing header.
-
A yes. Couple beers too many!
-
I thought they came from their left?
-
Nobody is, they are simply giving their opinion based on his first game, same as people offered an opinion before his game based on his previous record and his old club's fans and the same as people will offer an opinion the next time he plays and the time after that. Clearly an opinion of whether HCDAJFU will hold more weight after something like ten games, but absolutely nothing wrong with offering an initial opinion and then giving subsequent opinions after that.

Not a LB IMO would prefer Harding with Fox to come in at LM if needed.
-
Did they? Maybe people speculated that Rickie may not be able to keep up with the pace, and in fairness at points last season they probably had good reason to think that. He has come back this season and seems a lot leaner and fitter and fair play to him and the club for getting him there. On a separate note, I hate attention seeking 'told you so' threads like this which say more about the mentality of the OP than the people he is talking about IMO and no I never said that about Rickie.

You make no sense and your quoting is flawed.

Well you can forgive me for thinking otherwise considering you quoted the entire post without bold bits.

There is always room for improvement. Nothing wrong with applauding a win but recognising weaknesses which could cost us in future games.

Defensive Line-up today vs Forest - strange or genius?
hypochondriac replied to Tony F's topic in The Saints
Changes were enforced due to injuries so it wasn't really a decision apart from not playing Martin. -
On the reaction thread you can see the goals where Lambert is clearly onside.

shirleysfc said he was better than Cork and Fonte and you said agreed.
-
Jos was better than Fonte? Really? Where were you sat?
-
I think that is unfair. Cork was played out of position and I don't think he was better than Fonte at all tbh. In your world that means you will dismiss my opinion because he is a 'fan favourite.' In reality, Fonte was actually decent and I thought Jos was OK but dodgy at points.
-
I don't understand your comment there tbh. No one is not cutting the team some slack, simply calling it as they saw it. And I disagree, I really don't think we stood up that well to the Forest team. Going forward we were decent and took our chances well, but there is no denying that in quite a few games this season we have given other teams a hell of a lot of chances.
-
I think partially but if I'm honest, I'm not entirely sure how important it was to buy someone like Fox who does look suspect defensively (the main job of a defender.) Jos looked a bit suspect and if he ends up costing us some points, I think we will regret strengthening at LB and possibly neglecting to spend some dosh at CB. Can't believe I am saying this but I think we missed Richardson today. OK he isn't great but he is all we have at the moment and we really missed Cork in the centre. Morgan was pretty anonymous and a bit disappointed in him today.
-
Agree with all of that. I do understand it is his first game and of course he needs time, but he didn't look like much of an improvement over Seaborne which is a shame.
-
If you mean me then yes I was. Itchen north block 4 row h to be precise.

I do think the defence is a worry. Whilst we continue to win it doesn't matter but it was the amount of chances that the likes of forest Leicester and even Ipswich created which shows the weakness in our team. Ok you can say we were just promoted but we should still be looking to improve and not be afraid to criticise.
-
Never said he wasn't. I wanted to see how the season progressed and he is certainly doing well. Well done to him and the team.

Mixed feelings with this win. Fantastic smash and grab against forest who dominated the entire second half and will feel rightly aggrieved with some of the decisions. Fox was awful and got done numerous times. New defender was bad too heading straight up in the air. How forest failed to score more than twice I will never know. They were clearly better than us in the second half. Still we won and lambert was superb. Excellent result and the type we will need if we want to do well.

Damn I would have had that...

Who is a member of a political party or NGO?
hypochondriac replied to View From The Top's topic in The Lounge
Very interesting that Dr Who is a labour supporter. For the record, I am not a member of any party but at the moment it is the Tory party who I feel are the best choice to lead the country after the Labour c*ck up post Blair.
