The Official Summer Transfers and HCDAJFU Thread
hypochondriac replied to supersonic's topic in The Saints
It's from football-rumours so is utter utter rubbish. -
Any chance of making this a sticky for this time of year? Am fed up over the years of people posting rumours from that website (including another 2 rumours today.) They will literally publish any rumour from anyone (I tried it a couple of years ago with one about Beckham and saints and they published it!) FOR GOODNESS SAKE PEOPLE, POST RUMOURS BY ALL MEANS BUT STAY OFF THAT DAMN SITE!

Where is that from? -
It all comes down to that conversation I had with Alpine about two years ago where he said that in his opinion, people who did not go to games had a more valid opinion than people who did go. Completely barking.

TBF I imagine the likes of Dune (Stanley) has more than his fair share of infractions.

I think I got them the wrong way round. The snakes being dangerous thing is a myth and there is only one type of poisonous spider.
-
When you look for information about Australian venomous snakes you read statements like these again and again: Australian snakes are the most venomous in the world. 7 of the worlds 10 most poisonous snakes live in Australia. You will likely come across a list of the worlds most venomous snakes, starting like this: Inland Taipan (Oxyuranus microlepidotus) Eastern Brown Snake (Pseudonaja textilis) Coastal Taipan (Oxyuranus scutellatus) Mainland Tiger Snake (Notechis scutatus) Peninsula or Black Tiger Snake (Notechis ater niger) The first five snakes and most of the snakes on the list are Australian. Usually one important little note is missing. It should always (and sometimes does) read: "These are the most venomous snakes if you are a mouse." The toxicity of snake venom is tested in mice. Mice aren't people. The above mentioned list has little relevance for humans. First it should be said that all Australian venomous snakes have the potential to be dangerous, as venom sensitivity in individual people varies enormously. And it certainly varies between people and mice! Many snakes that cause thousands of deaths a year never made the list. Maybe their venom isn't all that toxic to mice? And ponder this. Mouse tissue is 50 times less responsive to Sydney Funnel-web Spider venom than human tissue. In one study adult mice were unaffected by the spider venom. You could mistakenly think this spider is harmless when examining the toxicity of its venom on mice. In short, the above list is meaningless if you want to judge how dangerous a snake is for you. Even if the venom toxicity was the same in mice and people, a list like that is still meaningless, unless you take snake behaviour and distribution into account. The number of people who have seen an Inland Taipan in the wild can be counted using your fingers. Don't get me wrong. If you get yourself bitten by an Eastern Brown, and if the snake does in fact inject venom into you (they rarely do, a bite is often just a warning), and if you don't treat the bite quickly and correctly, there is a good chance that you will die. The same is true for the venom of Tiger Snakes, Taipans etc. It can kill. But to get bitten in the first place you have to ask for it. Their venom may be potent, but the hype that Australian snakes are the most dangerous in the world is nonsense.

Apparently there is only one type of deadly snake in Australia and the spider thing is a myth too. Apparently.

Thanks guys. Am thinking of going in September though it's early days yet. Ideally I want to travel and work for the year so I see quite a bit. Wouldnt mind doing a bit of camping as well as that's always fun. Have nothing really keeping me here at the moment and I could do with getting away. Any advice on the amount of money?
-
Looking to work and travel round there for a year in 2011. If anyone has any advice or useful links it would be much appreciated. Has anyone had any experiences of their own there? Any advice about the best time to go? Recommended destinations? Thanks in advance.

But you don't get a reply and the letters etc are checked and vetted before being sent to the child.

Big if.

But I'm not going to say they only have 2 good players. I have no idea.
-
Wednesday have a very decent team. Only thing that irritates me is them saying we only have 2 good players. Fonte Schneiderlin Lallana and Davis are at least in the top two for their position in this league and I would suggest Harding is right up there too. That's before even mentioning the new recruits (though I can't judge them as I haven't seen them.) I fully expect us to sign a cracking CM before the end of the window which would fit into the above category. Therefore we will be the best or one of the best in at least 5 or 6 positions. To say we only have 2 good players is a nonsense.
-
Who is delighted we have kept our best players! (so far...)

Lol. -
And if we do make a GK signing it will be for backup so it can still be made last minute because it is unlikely that they will play straight away.
-
BB hasn't officially gone yet, even if he does I would be happy with a loan for a keeper. What half decent keeper would want to come here to sit on the bench virtually all season?
-
Pardew has already said we will sign someone to challenge Hammond for a place. A CM, pacy winger and a Striker and we are laughing.

ITK is still around, They just confine themselves to PMs or suggest things in public that people are to dense to latch onto (Trousers excepted.)

Everyone makes mistakes. I hope Seaborne can prove me wrong but personally, I think despite Pardew having a very good record in the transfer market thus far, Seaborne is a duff one. Hope he comes good though but I would prefer to buy someone I know CDAJ than someone that I hope can. -
Now I just assumed that everyone knew this. Maybe I am wrong.
-
Yes they do. You've got to be pretty dumb to think that. I mean there have been so many well publicised examples and schools have facebook policies for a reason. I hope it works out for her but honestly that's a really stupid thing to do.

If we tie a decent oil deal up because of it then it's probably worth it.
