  1. Nope. If you watched the whole thing he actually controlled it pretty well.
  2. Do you know about Ron Davies and would you be prepared to support some sort of benefit match or movement to bring him to Southampton?
  3. Yep I agree with that as well. I'm sure that therefore you can see that using Jock and Paddy on here could be seen as offensive to some? So why use it if you know it has the potential to cause offense? Good debate btw delldays. Don't often agree with you but it's nice that we can debate without insults.
  4. If I knew that someone was offended by a term I used then I would try not to use it in front of them. It's pretty simple really.
  5. But that's sort of what I was saying. If he isn't offended by it then there is no problem. It's calling someone Snowy who IS offended that's the problem and the same applies to Paddy, Jock etc.
  6. Perhaps it is policy set by the owners of the nursery? Ofsted and Early Years are national organisations and I know they haven't implemented such a scheme. I would be extremely surprised if Torquay council had got involved and changed any policy. Even if true, it's not over the whole country and IMO there is no chance of it happening over the whole country. Nothing to worry or get angry about. I agree it's stupid tough.
  7. My parents run 4 nurseries in Southampton and have done so for over thirty years. I can tell you now that that nursery rhymes policy is untrue. There is a song called baa baa white sheep which is sung as well as the original person (there is also a pink sheep version!). It may be a policy at a specific nursery or chain where she works but I know for a fact that it is not a national thing. Sorry, what I meant to say is that almost always the children are asked what it is they would like to sing. Sometimes they say baa baa black sheep and sometimes white sheep. It is never policy that they HAVE to sing both.
  8. And personally I couldn't give a monkeys about those words. I personally do not find it offensive in the slightest but I CAN see why some people would.
  9. Why not call them Irish and Scottish then? They are totally different terms and you know it. You wouldn't call a black person a ni**er would you?
  10. I can only speculate that if true, the poster calling you it was either not being particularly serious or was themselves extremely ignorant. I very much doubt that you would find anyone on here now who would seriously call you a racist for voting UKIP.
  11. Wel it can't be proven either way so we'll leave it eh?
  12. Sigh. Some people consider the terms jocks and paddys as offensive. I don't but some people do.
  13. Did they actually say that you are a racist because you support UKIP though? I would be surprised TBH if that was the line of argument they had chosen.
  14. TBF just debate the issues without going on like you are being victimised. Some people could be offended by some of the words you have used. Just don't do it and you'll be fine.
  15. So are you saying that everyone who has voted for the BNP supports their policies and is therefore racist themselves? Most commentators reckon that a large majority of the recent BNP votes were protest votes from frustrated members of the public who feel alienated by the main political parties. I don't support the BNP in any way BTW and I have never voted for them.
  16. Well you say that, but you've also made claims that people have said things in the past which they haven't said...
  17. But surely you wouldn't say no?
  18. Really? Because I honestly do not remember anyone saying that.
  19. Everyone knows that Nick Griffin is a racist and a bit of a fool. Anyone who actively supports him and what he does is in my opinion very ignorant and a bit dim. People who voted for him out of protest or frustration do not fall into this category. You can vote for the BNP knowing they will never get into a position of power if you think it will create change without supporting any of the racist views of Nick and his party.
  20. UniteAgainstFascism is as bad as the BNP. They are a joke.
  21. TBF I only have on one occasion.
  22. It is fairly amusing that people want to censor the BNP and pretend they don't exist in the name of democracy when they fail to realise that they are in opposition to a democratic society when they deny them the right to air their views. I found myself shouting at the screen in agreement when Bonnie Greer said her point about the British public. FINALLY someone gives us some credit and doesn't believe that just because Griffin is on Question Time that we are going to swallow everything he says and become fascist. It's nice that people have faith in the common sense of the British people for once.
  23. Certainly. Personally I wouldn't be comfortable walking past any people virtually eating each others' faces, even more so if they happen to be of the same sex. Save it for the privacy of your own home is my motto.
  24. Creepy is not the word I would use but I think he has a point there.
  25. I agree with that. The protesters were buffoons.
