Shocking treatment was what Burley did to the likes of Rasiak and Jan to Stern John. Play them for a game or two, watch them perform and then drop them for seemingly no reason. Gillet isn't rated clearly (and when he has come on this season he has done nothing to suggest that he should be in contention) and a loan move probably suits both parties. Why is that shocking treatment?
-
How bizarre. Why is it shocking if he doesn't rate him? Maybe Gillet isn't happy to be backup. Tell me, who would you have him in place of in the team?
-
I wouldn't gloat just yet Corp. That backfired last time remember?
-
Not sure why the even bothered to pretend like he had a chance of staying.

Any comment Phil? Portsmouth's new owner Ali Al-Faraj is courting fresh investors for his consortium, it has been revealed. The People says two Israeli millionaires are vying to become part of the consortium and there could also be involvement from an Arab royal family. Very little is known about the rest of the Al-Faraj group, but insiders suggest two well-known Israelis, who tried to buy into English clubs before, are on the fringes of the consortium. The Al-Faraj family also have two links through marriage with the Saudi royal family, with hints that this is where his extra funds are coming from. An insider said: "The Saudis are very private people. They don't want publicity about their wealth or who they are. It is the same with the owners of Manchester City."

That's a good idea.

Might as well give them a chance. If they are ****e for four years then let someone else in.

I think this thread should be locked now mods. It's only words on a messageboard but clearly some people don't think before posting.

Yep. No matter what you thought of the man himself, anyone dying in their thirties is a tragedy and it should be treated with respect.

I'm finding it difficult to describe how I'm feeling about this tragic event TBH. It's a wonder that I'm even able to write anything about it since it's brought back memories of similar events in my own life. Words don't come easily to me at the best of times. I think it makes you appreciate your own life when someone goes at such a young age. No matter what happens in the future, I will remember this and be thankful just to be alive and healthy. There does seem to be a certain amount of injustice with all this really and I think this creates an interesting debate about the existence of a supernatural being or "God." What sort of God would allow something like this to happen? If prayers were answered then this sort of thing would not be happening. There is no justice.

It's terrible when people die so young. The worst effect will be on his family and those closest to him. The going is going to get tough for them over the next few days and weeks. My condolences.

I'm sure his relatives will be reading this as we speak and will be suitably outraged.

You are correct. I think nickg is assuming that we are s****horpe from that year when of course we aren't.

What an odd way of looking at it. I'd be ecstatic if we won the playoffs this year. It would be wildly better than my expectations. We would then almost certainly stay up in the championship with a few good buys and we'll be looking for prem promotion then IMO. The sooner we get up the sooner we can start the promotion to the prem campaign. -

When you go 3-1 up away you're not likely to play really attacking football following that, you will want to protect your 2 goal advantage. -

Don't talk rubbish. Players would have considered that it was unlikely that we would get promoted this season before signing. -
Based on last 6 games we are the 4th best team

That's a silly way of looking at it as there are numerous reasons why we have started the season slowly. -
SOme people may go as far as to call him world class
