Not really. As I said I was accused of being happy clappy and deluded a few weeks ago. I'm genuinely a very positive person, I just don't see the sense in signing Seaborne over a clearly superior player. Other people have agreed with me so it isn't just me.

It's a f*ckin stupid decision the more I think about it. Ok seaborne is young and we are 'buying potential' but Ward is still young himself at 24 and a decent championship defender by all accounts. We had the chance to get a rock solid defence with a back four that would look good in the CCC and we haven't taken it. I'll get abused now for not giving the new guy a chance but IMO every signing should be looking to improve what we have and I'm not sure that is the case here.

Would be a decent signing. Add Stock before the end of the window and maybe one more and I would be happy. Still sad we went for Seaborne over Ward though.

I have never once said he isn't entitled to his view. I personally put more weight behind the opinions of someone who watches a player week in week out compared to someone who never goes. If I never attended the saints games, I believe that someone' criticisms of a player are more valid than mine if I did. Do you not agree that your opinions on a player will be much less informed than someone who watches a player every week? If have listened to quite a few Aston Villa games this year and I have an opinion on a few of their players but I would place much more value on a Villa season ticket holder's opinion of their players than mine. Not sure why this is such a contentious issue, it seems perfectly obvious to me.

Because it is entirely relevant to the conversation we are having now. When Alpine says Morgan is ****, I want to know what he bases that opinion on. If (as has been the case in the past) it's just from what he hears on the radio then IMO that makes his opinion less valid than someone who goes to many games. I didn't get nasty.

Indeed he did. Last season when people were saying we actually played well in quite a few games (which we did) and he was arguing that if people believed that then his opinion was more valid than theirs, despite the fact that they had attended games and he had not. He said it and I remember it clearly.

According to Alpine, his view is MORE valid than the people who attend games. You couldn't make it up!

Lets hope he improves. It could well be that sadly my initial feelings are proven correct and Pards has made an error.

Not necessarily old but I see what you mean.

He is IMO our most talented attacker in a number of areas. I would have had him on the bench in case we were losing and wanted to attack Milwall towards the end. Thta was not what Pardew got wrong IMO.
