I reckon Ralph did what he has done in the past and got worried about how good Spurs are and tried to play some weird formation with odd players in order to protect what he views as the fragile nature of the team. This is particularly weird given that we've had all summer to rid ourselves of this style of playing and this cautious nature of trying not to lose. It's inexplicable really that Bednarek, Valery, Djenepo and Armstrong are all getting a place in the starting team when everyone is fully fit bar Livramento.

My guess is that we haven't been able to sell some of the players we had hoped to and so in order to continue to strengthen the squad, we move to the next group of players who could be sold hence Adams maybe going. Its a big big risk and presumably we would now need two strikers. Trust the process I suppose...

He'd do better than Ralph but I'd want somebody better.

I really don't understand why we haven't supplemented our young signings with a bit more experience. I still would have signed Ben Mee. Not the most glamorous of signings but a solid defensive signing and would have improved us.

I think if we lose this that Ralph may go.

I think the most frustrating thing for me was we have changed large parts of the coaching team, many players the formation and yet we seemingly played exactly the way we have always done. This suggests sadly that it's Ralph who is the problem. Imo he will be gone in a few weeks.

All I was told was that he was under pressure and had to perform. I don't think they will leave it long if it isn't working.

I expected us to lose but I was looking for signs of improvement. There was none. Not many more games left for Ralph...

Really unusual formation and lineup which I don't think anyone would have predicted. I'm concerned that bednarek is still a starter and that valery is the best we have at rb. Also a bit weird to have djenepo as a starter considering how ineffective he's been historically. No Adams? Makes me worried that we may be selling him.

Selling players is sort of what we do. I'd rather not sell him but I'd make peace with it if it allowed us to sign a striker, winger and full back.

Based on the odds where are they placing us in the table? Very hard to place us this year.

Don't think it's worth speculating about some fantasy scenario before it's happened. When boufal scored his goal there was a load of hype and rightly so.

And once he demonstrates that in the best league in the world then we can all be happy. Until then it's just potential.

Also interesting to hear from my brother in law who is an ex professional footballer. He said the best managers are the ones who have a hard man disciplinarian reputation in front of the cameras and then are the complete opposite behind the scenes. There are many examples.

Plus the fact it was a friendly with no pressure. Like I said, I'll be really chuffed if he can do something similar in a competitive game but as yet he hasn't achieved anything.
