I've already explained myself clearly on this thread and don't want to repeat myself. Read here for a full explanation of my thoughts: https://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?p=2768843 What you call "playing it down" is in fact giving a realistic portrayal of the situation rather than some hysterical moral panic whipped up most recently by a lone fan from Yeovil that may not have even said anything racist anyway.

Find one post supporting vigilante justice on this thread. If you can't find one then log off and never post again you fool.
-
From the sound of things it's more just a code that prisoners are expected to live by. If they are given the opportunity then they have to try to kill child abusers or they get hurt by people themselves.
-
No one said racism wasn't happening you moron.
-
Wouldn't surprise me if this is the case. Doesn't stop some on here trying to suggest this misunderstanding shows clear systemic racism accross the leagues! Mass hysteria me up.
-
I said there is no large scale problem with racism abd that it is largely confined to small pockets and is widely seen as socially unacceptable just as it is in wider society so please don't put words in my mouth. Pointing to an example in a non league fa Cup qualifier in front of probably a few hundred fans with I would guess minimal security and stewarding and potentially something committed by a single fan or a very small handful just proves my point. It shouldn't happen and will be severely dealt with in this case no doubt but as I've said you just made my point for me and as the club said, the vast majority of Yeovil fans are disgusted.

Personally I would have kept Harrison Reid as backup at cm which would have meant losing lemina wasn't such a big deal. If we had signed an actual cb who was decent then the defence would have been OK with just being a big light at lb. Djenepo is a decent attacking signing albeit not somewhere we massively needed someone with boufal returning and I can absolutely see why we signed a striker considering how many on here were crying out for someone. The main issue is that with danso being rubbish, it highlights the fragility of the rest of our defence. If I had to have a choice I would have maybe not bothered with Adams and gone all in on a quality cb but I can see why we tried to solve both issues.

People saying how utterly horrendous Boris is, how evil the tories are etc. That's clearly not the general feeling around the country. Calling for Boris to be locked up for example is completely fanciful. If everyone felt how many do on here then the Tories would be wiped out and the Lib Dems would win by a landslide yet the polls still show Boris ahead with higher popularity than other leaders. Now most on here would dismiss that by saying that everyone who votes that way are thick idiots. In my opinion that's just a failure to understand that people can come to different conclusions to you and resent being called stupid or racist by people who have little understanding of their circumstances or their motivations for voting the way they do. Far easier to denigrate people than understand why they are voting a certain way.

I don't really blame the club for this one. He still could come good but he seemed promising and it's always worth a punt. No idea what we were doing with Danso though if we had no intention to play him at cb. We must have one of the weakest defences in the league if not the weakest.
-
Yes but if he isn't first choice then it's a bit of a waste considering how much we needed a starter up front. Fortunately ings has hit some form but he's very likely to be out injured again at some point.

The main problem for people on here is they just look at things from within their bubble and with their own perspectives without considering wider public opinion. It's why so many were shocked by trump and brexit. The most likely outcome of a general election is no overall majority but I wouldn't be surprised at all if the conservatives got a majority in order to carry out brexit. Johnson isn't going to prison, most people vastly prefer him as pm to may and corbyn and the majority don't give a stuff if he uses so called unparliamentary language or does something petty towards a parliament they have zero trust in. Tactically considering the huge opposition he's facing he's played things pretty well, certainly a lot better than May ever did.
-
I expect that given the choice more people would support a sensible deal.
-
It's all about the optics with a general election. However you play it he's in a much better place having come up with a deal that is then prevented from passing for whatever reason than trying and failing to leave without a deal.
-
That's true but he will have gained a lot more brexit supporters now he has a deal that's being thwarted rather than going into an election having been forced to break his promise of leaving on the 31st.
-
Most likely outcome is a general election. If the tories get enough seats then it's getting done. Big if though given the u predictable nature of the climate but I can't see anything other than a labour crash and burn and that will probably benefit the conservatives at least slightly.
-
Boris doesn't want no deal, the EU don't want no deal, neither do Labour and many Tories. It's not going to happen, particularly when there is a deal. They will keep delaying things with some hanging onto the belief that it will get them another referendum but when this vote is finally done, I can't see it losing.
-
I will say though that despite this being a decent point, my interest has massively lessened since the Europa adventures really. Boring football that's difficult to enjoy and starting every season with survival being pretty much the maximum we can achieve and very little indication that this will change any time too. Ho hum.
-
It's obvious this deal is going to pass eventually, even if there is a general election in between. The only hope remainers have is for the Tories not to be the biggest party.
-
Good away point against a good team.
-
Not sure how it's a big loss. We've been largely sh*t with him in the setup, it's not like we can do a whole lot worse without him.
-
I hardly think you can accuse anyone in this process of rushing things through. We've been paused on the edge for months.
-
Change the record you fanny.
-
Willing to change your lofty principles when it suits. Figures.
-
Lol. I'd take the prison time.
-
So no suggestions then?
