I absolutely agree that those sort of people exist, I just don't think that the presence or absence of smacking has an effect on that. Helicopter parenting and never allowing children to be independent or ever fight their own battles leads to the sort of thing but I fail to see why smacking has to be a factor.

But it's a bit of a leap to go from outlawing physical violence to outlawing any punishments entirely.
-
Hmm I'm not sure about that. In my, extensive experience very frequently parents do not know what is best for their children. Out of interest, is it your own choice not to have children?
-
I don't think anyone should be hitting children but I do think this should be looked at on a case by case basis when these incidents occur. It could for example be parents who have been taught that this behaviour is acceptable and so they may require education on the matter rather than immediate punishment. I have a lot of experience with loving parents doing what they think is best for their child but actually causing them harm in the process. As long as it is handled sensibly then I have no problem with a change in the law.

If he loses a vote of no confidence shortly and then they call a quick general election then he will be fighting it absolutely no doubt about it.
-
Can't agree with you there. I believe most polls are showing Boris has jumped in popularity in the last few weeks. It may be bad for Johnson if the opposition were in any way competent.
-
It's probably beneficial for the Conservative party if he gets voted out and then fights an election rather than being forced to break his promise after the 31st.

Tbf the lack of ambition shown by our owner or the lack of a unifying villain does make it much more difficult to generate an atmosphere.

Nottingham forest away in our championship relegation season was the best away day I've ever been to. We were already relegated and we had a massive p*ss up and party all weekend. Legendary.

And quite right too. Absolute disgrace to have another referendum and then throw the original votes in the bin.
-
And if the numbers taking part in this second referendum are significantly lower because many have become disillusioned by those in power doing everything they can to overturn the original result?
-
Having a sham of a second referendum amounts to ignoring the will of the people anyway. In fact it's actually more insulting because it's dressed up as being democratic when actually it's purely designed to overturn the original result.
-
In a weird way I sort of agree with the lib dems who are at least honest about what they want. A charade of a second referendum is an idiotic idea and isn't going to heal any sort of divisions whatever way it goes. A half in non-brexit isn't going to please anyone either. The choices should be to leave properly with everything that entails or to cancel the whole thing. Both choices are difficult and will have real consequences.

It's normally those who hsput the loudest about this sort of thing who are really hiding the real racism and regressive attitudes about other races. It's just one reason why they are so insufferable.

Leave your rape and domestic abuse fixations for your personal life and keep them off the forum.

Absolutely. You're correct and we have a couple of examples on this thread. -

I have nothing to do with any so called "leavers." What Wes Tender and others post on here shouldn't really be associated with anyone else simply because the voted the same way on one occasion. -

In a real-life context I rarely if ever ask about how someone voted in the referendum three years ago. I know how some of my close friends voted and I don't give a sh*t because it makes little difference. One of my best mates is a full on corbyn supporter and although I take the mick out of him we are still good friends and will continue to be so. If you let your political decisions dictate who you associate with then you have my pity. -

Where are the racist quotes from Boris that show he has a lower opinion of people based on their skin colour? -

If you make racist comments on a number of occasions how are you not racist? I think there's plenty of examples of her not being particularly bright too. We all know that the likes of lammy and Abbott have a lower opinion of someone if they have white skin which is absolutely a racist attitude to hold. Race is not a factor for the vast majority of Brits when deciding if they like someone or not but it quite clearly is to them. -

"white people love to play divide and rule". implying West indian mothers care more about their children than other races. "the British invented racism" "blonde haired blue eyed Finnish girls are unsuitable as nurses." That seems pretty racist to me. -
People didn't call Ched Evans "hard done by" they were challenging you continuing to refer to him as a rapist and suggesting his acquittal was dodgy after he was found not guilty. They were then pointing out your hypocrisy given your stance on Boycott.
