To be fair, if they are offering maybe 50k more than us a week, then you can't really blame the lad.
-
Really our only chance is if he doesn't want to go north. I'm guessing Everton wouldn't have bothered getting this far if they had indications he didn't want to go there so the likelihood is he is going to Everton and not us.
-
Looks like he's going to Everton then. Can't really blame him but it's disappointing. I'd go for some of the best championship players who would be more likely to join us as it's a step up.

That's what I assumed prior to Palace! I think we underestimate the desire of the club not to admit their failings...
-
Nope. Had a fair bit more fight in us from what I remember. Some players literally! Difference was we had a poor squad last time whereas we have an underperforming one this season.
-
Would be nice to get a bit of effort like that this season even if we do go down. Much more likely to go down with a whimper this time though...
-
Really should have worked to get at least one in before the vvd sale was made public.
-
Someone was offering one on the ugly inside last night
-
We haven't really been linked with him in any substantive way and also wasn't the rumour that the French player pr his agent has turned us down?

Terrorist Attacks - WARNING: CONTAINS DISTRESSING IMAGES
hypochondriac replied to sadoldgit's topic in The Lounge
Why would random stabbings be talked about in a thread about terrorism? As you well know, not every stabbing is a terrorist incident so why would you expect that to be spoken about on here? Fact is, a large number of terrorist incidents are committed by Muslim extremists, certainly a much larger proportion in the west over the last decade or so so of course it will be spoken about a lot. -
You're sure are you? Have any evidence for that nonsense? It's convenient to blame everything on the fans and if that were true, pellegrino is much worse than puel but there has been no suggestion he is anywhere close to being sacked despite the atmosphere being much worse.

I'd play for Portsmouth for £110,000 a week.

I know that to you, everyone to the right of Mao is a white nationalist but you could at least attempt to have a conversation without resorting to spurious accusations of racism. It makes it hard to take you seriously wheb you see the spectre of white nationalism around every corner. -
Terrorist Attacks - WARNING: CONTAINS DISTRESSING IMAGES

No one said there weren't some school children that protested a war. There would be protests against any war because some people are ideologically opposed to any sort of war under any circumstances- like corbyn. I'm really not interested in this subject anyway and it's not pertinent to this thread so by all means cling to your story that millions believed the dossier to be a lie before it was proven that the Labour Party lied to us. Just because you're an antifa supporter and thus have an inherent mistrust of any sort of figure in authority does not mean that everyone is lying to you at all times. The government lied about Iraq but it doesn't mean that everything that every government has done or ever will do is a lie in perpetuity. In other news: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-42622329 Let's hope this isn't the start of another spate of attacks again. -
Terrorist Attacks - WARNING: CONTAINS DISTRESSING IMAGES

Well that's complete cr*p. Many people supported the Iraq war at the time on the premise that they had weapons of mass destruction. There was not much of a reason to believe otherwise until after the event. This is going off topic anyway, I didn't even say if I supported it or not by the way I just think it's disingenuous to pretend that everyone knew they were lies at the time. -
Who told you that? I don't believe that's true. Even if we were looking to bring him back, we wouldn't bring him to the stadium whilst the present manager is still there.
-
Ah well. If he goes there he isn't worth £110,000 a week anyway.
-
Ffs. Another reason to bin off the manager, maybe we could get someone in who could persuade some of these players and keep us up. If Theo doesn't want to commit to us though then he probably shouldn't bother.

Terrorist Attacks - WARNING: CONTAINS DISTRESSING IMAGES

Really odd assumption to make based on not a whole lot. Many were in favour of the Iraq war which was based on a lie which was discovered after the invasion. I doubt anyone was in further of an invasion once it was discovered that the dossier was made up. With regards to this bloke, it appears his motives were financial rather than any political motive or desire to spread terror in order to further an ideology which is the definition of a terrorist act. Otherwise any violent act for monetary gain would be considered an act of terror which is quite clearly tosh. -
I'd have ulloa up top with Walcott on the wing. Still missing a creative player but probably have to settle for that in January along with a cb and then cross our fingers.

Terrorist Attacks - WARNING: CONTAINS DISTRESSING IMAGES

Tbf difficult to know if that fits the definition of a terrorist attack- I thought there had to be some sort of political dimension. Seems more like a deeply misguided attempt to make money. Shocking crime clearly but it doesn't appear to be motivated by an extremist ideology. Good to see by the way that this thread has been quiet for a while. Maybe 2018 will see less major Islamic terror attacks in Western Europe. I certainly hope so. -
Better than Gallagher?
-
Well yes but I'd rather see it in the prem than when we have been relegated. The author of the piece is right that we are currently the furthest away from achieving markus' dream than at any other point since our return to the top. It's pretty criminal that we haven't used Gallagher this year- he would have definitely been useful.
-
I second this. It deserves a wider audience and pretty much sums up what we have been missing. I'm not sure about anyone else but given our troubles this year, would you rather see the likes of Gallagher and Reed on the pitch than some of the overpaid foreigners with no affinity to the club?
