  1. In some ways Trump is rather ingenious because not only is he entertaining and genuinely quite amusing at times, he can simultaneously be an extremely wealthy individual and appeal to the working class in a way that no American politician can. Even being able to have fun and be less serious provides welcome relief to a public used to the same sort of fake narrative and manner from regular politicians. That's a big reason he won imo.
  2. I'd argue that the likes of the Clintons are much more an example of the elite. Trump didn't have every celebrity going like Beyonce, mark hamill, Taylor Swift etc shilling for him. The Clintons spent half their lives in politics and are worth hundreds of millions since getting into power. The American people had four years of both political parties and decided they preferred the experience of four years of Trump. It's not about one side being good and one being bad, it's not even about if people particularly liked Trump or not. The choice for the American public was clear and they obviously preferred the way the world was under Trump, the good the bad and the ugly. That the Democrats failed to convince so badly is on them.
  3. Living in a free country means you can pretty much call people what you like. I just wouldn't go around acting shocked when those people being labelled tell the political side labelling them to fuck off at the ballot box.
  4. Like I said, not really at the same level as literally Hitler, racist, sexist etc etc. You're hardly likely to run the risk of losing your job or having your life destroyed because someone falsely accuses you of being a snowflake or part of the woke brigade.
  5. Has he? He's definitely been a bit better but I'm pretty surprised he's been deemed good enough for England.
  6. Do you think attitudes like yours make it more or less likely that there will be repeats of these types of results in the future? The reason I ask is because in my view the attitude you're displaying here is very likely to have had at least some impact in a portion of the American public voting Republican.
  7. So many people on the left denegrate those who don't vote for them as thick, evil or dangerous. This is to a much greater degree than someone on the right would do the same to someone on the left.
  8. Great news. If I were American this would be a big reason for voting for him. With the Cass report in this country, it looks like a lot of this child abuse will be over: https://x.com/SwipeWright/status/1854463035756122553?t=qNGQd1J7ih1flg6Iku0V7w&s=19
  9. I don't think Trump won in 2020 but it really is quite astonishing what an anomaly it was for voting.
  10. Yes it's a much lower burden of proof. Good article on the BBC today on why Harris lost. One of the points made is that she focused too much on Trump and who he was rather than what she had to offer and her policies. The public already know all there is to know about Trump but they didn't really know what she was offering and she didn't tell them. People are fed up hearing about what an evil nazi Trump is, they can make their own mind up. Present a positive vision for the country with proper policies and maybe she would have done better.
  11. Terrible results for them tonight with Luton winning and Preston nicking a draw. Cardiff in not too bad form despite their loss. Great stuff.
  12. Sounds like there's a possibility of some projection going on....
  13. He's got a thing about flinging around accusations of rape, rape apologist etc etc. Seems like a rather serious thing to go around accusing people of.
  14. That's true but that would also be the case if the Democrats had got in. The point is I'd rather have more decisive victories in politics generally so there aren't any excuses for not delivering what was promised and also voters get largely what they voted for. I don't particularly want Labour in power in the UK for example but given that they are, I'd rather they had the power to do what they wanted rather than having virtually no majority and having to half arse everything along the way.
  15. The rhetoric around Trump being literally Hitler coming from many Democrats contributed towards an increase in the threat to Trump's life. Both sides a responsible for inflammatory language and hyperbole and it shouldn't be happening because it gets people killed.
  16. The main lesson for Democrats to learn from this is that they need to be able to put themselves in the position of an average American voter and understand why they were able to vote for Trump. Many on the left in America and many over here actually are completely unable to understand any valid reason for why so many people would vote for him. They aren't able to empathise with those of a different political view and that is why they often lose and why it's such a shock to them.
  17. It will be quite gracious of Trump if he does decide to forgive the likes of Lammy for his disgusting slurs and terrible language.
  18. Some good points here I think well expressed. https://x.com/KonstantinKisin/status/1854151133385613690?t=2hlHKnOy8dAg8-yE5-WhnQ&s=19
  19. Ultimately I want the best for Britain but I hope he really makes them squirm first. Also that prick Khan too.
  20. It's unlikely to be as chaotic. They have a clear majority so can't really be held up or thwarted this time. He also has the experience of the first four years. My bet is they manage to get a lot more done. Whether it's what most people would want done on here or not is another matter. I think it will be a big win for freedom of speech and censorship in this country though so that's a big positive from my point of view.
  21. She barely ran any campaign at all. She had little in the way of policies, avoided any taxing interviews that might challenge her or her views, skipped the largest podcast in the entire world and seemed to run mostly saying that people should vote for her because she isn't Trump. It was a disastrous campaign and that was the case before the results, they just confirmed it.
  22. He donated to a progressive liberal campaign as well.
  23. Continually calling your politically opponent a nazi will in the minds of some make it almost a duty to get rid of him. If Trump is Hitler then it's a net good to remove him by any means necessary. The Harris campaign absolutely need to take their share of the responsibility for the rhetoric.

Probably regretting turning down Clinton's deal when they had the chance.
