  1. Obviously things might not work out like this and we may have another player lined up but if the remainder of the window ends up being Aribo, Armstrong, Archer and possibly Edozie out and this bloke in then I expect fans to be pretty upset and if we have any further performances like Hull or if Stewart gets injured again for a period then it's just further along the road to mediocrity.
  2. Ah well. The championship and league one were better when hardly anyone attended games and you could get to all the aways.
  3. How many times? It's not the job of random fans on a Web forum to have an extensive knowledge of the transfer market and suggest people to sign. We employ people and pay them good money to do just that. The idea that the only signing available to us is this bloke is clearly absolute nonsense. If he did his acl in tonight we'd probably go for someone else so there's obviously other options available.
  4. We really should be able to show a little ambition. There's quite a few striker signings from other championship clubs this season that I would have preferred us to have signed. Not unrealistic signings. Someone already mentioned kieffer Moore but there was quite a few more than that.
  5. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but...
  6. Maybe for him. We will be bare bones up top once Stewart gets crocked so will play any old shit there no matter how he plays.
  7. OK that's fine. Just as long as we can agree that anyone could have had the same gut feeling based on very little when we signed Carillo and even Onuachu.
  8. Based on what?
  9. Yeah but my point is he won't be coming on for 20 minutes as backup to Stewart. On the many games that Stewart won't play because he can't play whole games or if/when he is injured again we will be relying on him to play substantial amounts of games.
  10. How will that work then? Stewart won't play every game and so it's either this bloke or a youngster. Baffling to be soight on the ground half a season after being in the prem.
  11. I don't need the minority oddballs on here to tell me how this is actually a good signing. I'm fine with Armstrong going if we bring someone in with a chance if being better. Imo this bloke appears to not be better than Armstrong.
  12. If Stewart gets injured and this bloke is shit then it's the youth team player and we have no one else (unless Archer doesn't go but who wants to rely on him?)
  13. Yep. We should be trying for that at least imo.
  14. Agreed. We haven't been absolutely awful with recruitment but we were let down in the most important position. Jander, Scienza and Peretz have been good signings. Azaz a bit disappointing given what we paid and Fellows has been a victim of the formation.
  15. Maybe this guy will be a surprise but on the face of it he looks absolute dogshit. This club...
  16. I've watched the replay of the save onto the post a few times now which shows how good it was. I can't remember watching replays of a single Bazunu save.
  17. It took me a while to warm to him but I think I prefer him to whispering Dave now. He can be quite critical but most of the time the stuff he points out is quite insightful. You're right that he's better at the analysis side rather than the passionate prose in the heat of the moment. Alongside Adam I quite like him.
  18. Absolutely. As shit as some of the performances and players have been this season, there's no doubt in my mind that had we played that formation and kept it simple from the start if the season we'd be in the playoffs. Instead we've wasted the season trying a nonsensical system that has barely worked all year.
  19. That's the major positive for me. Not a coincidence either that the defence look better with a leader and communicator making them more of a unit. Like you say Bree decent too. Finally getting some solid championship players playing in their best positions and doing simple things well. So frustrating that it's taken so much of the season and so many wasted games and points to do the simple things.
  20. A solid win. Not spectacular like some are suggesting but the sort of game we would have lost earlier in the season.
  21. We've changed one player. Imo we would have been able to play it successfully without James Bree. Clearly it help having him but the idea that we refused to changed formation simply because we didn't have Bree is a mad opinion. Plenty of people also said that our poor performances 'had nothing to do with the formation' which is clearly bollocks.
  22. Limped off after Pompey.
  23. People were calling for a change of formation for ages. We persisted with three at the back and it was at least partly responsible for throwing away so many game this season and leaving us miles away from the playoffs. Of course those saying we couldn't play it were going to get some stick when we changed formation and inevitably looked better.
  24. Coming off an injury it makes sense.
