Good! Hopefully we get a great Fernandes replacement and then build the team around them and Dibling. New gk Bree Quarshie Stephens/another cb wellington Downes Charles Dibling new am Robinson Downs/Archer Should have a good shot at promotion.
-
Almost none because we are a championship team. Did you expect us to get relegated and keep hold of Ramsdale, Fernandes, Dibling, kwp etc? I fear you may be disappointed. The last time we went down did you expect us to keep jwp, Tino, Lavia, Tella? We will have to start another rebuild if and when we win promotion again next year. That's just how it works. That's football.
-
I'll let you into a secret-we aren't replacing Fernandes, Dibling or Ramsdale with better players. We are a top championship team with a place in the hierarchy. What we should do and what we almost certainly will do is replace those players who leave with the best replacements we can get who should be top level championship players with a chance to do a job in the prem. That's exactly what we did the last time we got relegated. Don't you remember?

Have a quote that Hamas "being taken out of the equation" is a requirement of recognition of a Palestinian state?
-
Has it I clouded Amo Ameyew fee and the small amount we got for the youth player? Bednarek? Also Ramsdale obviously.
-
All previous historical evidence, the appointment of Spors, statements from still and solak and evidence from all clubs in a similar position to ourselves in the championship suggests I will be. Zero evidence to suggest I'm wrong.
-
Let's revisit this when we spend good money replacing Fernandes.
-
It's all relative though isn't it. I'd expect us to spend 20-30 million with a couple of top quality loans. 15 million on the Fernandes replacement, ten million on rak sakyi or simililar and the rest for strengthening elsewhere including a keeper. I am confident we will do that anyway, just a shame it has to be last minute.
-
I don't think we're in a dire position. We are sti pretty likely to finish high up the table. The thing is I'm ambitious and I want us to attempt to win the league. With that mindset I'd say we are currently short of where we need to be to compete at the very top, particularly when we lose our three or four best players.
-
Indeed. It's about the system rather than looking at historical stats from individual players in different systems from years ago. In all the pre season games so far we have looked largely toothless and created very little.
-
It's comptely absurd to fret about the prospect of us not spending any money based on nothing at all other than voices in your head.
-
Well we have previously, the owner and the club have said we will bring players in, Still has said we will and we will want promotion so it would make no sense not to. Given that there's no evidence at all that we are looking to do a complete change of approach and not spend any money replacing our best players, I'd suggest anyone worrying about it is slightly absurd.
-
What evidence are you using to suggest we won't?
-
Has there ever been a window where we brought a load of money in and then didn't spend a reasonable percentage of it on replacements? No one seriously thinks if Fernandes goes we won't spend decent money on a replacement do they? We spent last time in the championship and we were in a more unhealthy state financially. Why would we not?
-
We obviously are going to.
-
I'm still a bit worried we might lose someone like Charles or Downes which means a position I thought we were sorted in will need strengthening.
-
We've raised over 50 million so far. We're hardly skint and we're rich for this league at least.
-
I reckon we might end up keeping Dibling so that is keeping some.
-
Can't agree with that. Brooks and Rothwell weren't loan kids, neither was thb and Downes. When Fernandes goes we will obviously pay a fair whack to bring in a top quality for the championship am. Maybe someone like rak sakyi on the wing. I have faith we will bring in a better keeper too.
-
We have little choice. I quite like the Ipswich approach though who appear to have prioritised creating a championship dream team.
-
I get we will most likely start the season with that. I'm just saying I think that's where we could end up by the end of the window. I'm sure we will keep at least one of AA and BBD but I reckon if we get in a couple of attacking options then there will at least be competition for the wide positions. Probably Robinson as well. I think a couple might be on loan but if we do sell all these players there's not a chance in hell imo that we don't get in the required 4-5 players before the window closes in a month.
-
I agree with that and I am frustrated that we haven't got in at least a couple more signings by now to strengthen our attack. Currently it's pretty toothless.
-
As frustrating as it is to do business late in the window, we obviously are going to make multiple signings over the next few weeks. My guess would be at least five which should hopefully completely change our team and remove some of the hangover from last year. Assuming we make the predicted sales I reckon the team may eventually look something lime New gk Bree Quarshie Edwards Wellington Downes Charles New winger new am new winger Downs Maybe Downes or Charles will go and they will be replaced too.
-
If it's true that Juve and athletico are in for Fernandes then he's clearly not going to stay. I think we have a much better chance with dibling, particularly if we have just sold Fernandes and made close to 100 million in sales.
