Yes that's essentially what was said.
-
Second part of the presser suggests Bazunu is off which is good news!
-
He said something like now he's a bit fitter and can play more they have options for the formation. If he does go to 4 now that will be the excuse rather than admitting he's buckled to fan and pundit pressure. Weak
-
How many games did he play for us at cb?
-
I agree. He's never been gi en much of a chance, certainly not an extended run in his best position which is astounding really given how crap we have been in defence. Our worst mistake this year is not trying different things when what we are doing isn't working. I reckon he will turn out great and we will regret getting rid.
-
He suggested we might even see some changes of formation on occasion now that we have Jelert and roeslev fit. Didn't sound like there would be any big changes though just sometimes.
-
Tonda in the press conference trying to suggest that the reason we have been forced to only play one way was because our full backs have been injured.Just bollocks imo no reason we have had to constantly play fellows at the back.
-
Replacing a centre back or two would be a great idea.
-
Apart from the fact that we have stuck with Bazunu for ages. He should have been binned off years ago. If we demote him this window then both our goalkeeper and striker departments have been deemed not fit for purpose which is frankly a damming indictment of whoever was responsible for evaluating the squad.

The Starmer Years - Can The New Broom Sweep Clean?
hypochondriac replied to sadoldgit's topic in The Lounge
Think how many deaths we would save if we banned all knives and cut all our food by hacking at it with the edge of a spoon. -
Genuinely why would the higher ups protest about some of the shit players who are obviously part of a clique seeing us not win get dropped?
-
But if that were true why have none of them been dropped? In fact, Tonda brought Stephens back. I'd have expected at the very least Manning not to be playing as often as he does.
-
I heard Steve invested everything in an EU pesticide business but all the chemicals were toxic and made everyone ill so it's not going very well.
-
Tell that to saints go Wilde. Very close to going bust and then it wouldn't pass because we wouldn't exist. I'd rather not get sold to any old chancer because even if things eventually got better we could be crippled for years. That's not to say that sports Republic are running the club well.
-
Let's be honest no saints fan is going to shed a tear if the following were dropped: Manning Stephens Downes Bazunu Archer And to a lesser extent: THB Woods Leaving a team of: New gk Jelert/roeslev Edwards Quarshie Wellington Jander/Romeu Charles/Bragg Fellows Azaz/matsuki Scienza Armstrong/Stewart/new striker Probably need a new fullback and a cb but I'd happily wave goodbye to all of them. Maybe Armstrong too but I think at least he tries. I don't really know why Edwards hasn't really had much of a chance, particularly because a team above us in the league really want to sign him.

Agree with that completely.
-
I certainly hope so. Might get our money back in that case!
-
Just another way that individual players can avoid taking responsibility. If we remember all the marginal gains stiff we used to do when we were good, bringing our own chef with us, taking mattresses to away games so players get a good rest etc. Nowadays no one wants to actually assume responsibility for anything because responsibility is scary. We just don't seem to care about losing or winning in the same way we used to. Even the manager doesn't seem too fussed about it.
-
Right but imagine if we got someone like Gao now with no willingness to put money in and no expertise. Or a mad owner that wants to change our colours and name because they are lucky in his country. Things can always get worse, there's no guarantee that any replacement would actually be better.
-
I'm not sure he gets a free pass, it's just rightly acknowledged that putting real amounts of your own money in is a very different thing and is going to make you care an awful lot more than someone who doesn't do that. I'm sure he would really rather not let his asset lose value.
-
I don't necessarily disagree. My point is simply that you deserve credit for investing your own money into the club unlike previous owners and people with other job roles at the club and whilst he deserves some criticism, it will always be tempered by that fact. He's actually losing out financially when we do poorly. A load of the others won't give a fuck, they get a pay cheque either way and might take a hut to their reputation but they can always bullshit during another Ted talk and find some deluded wanker to sell moonshine to.
-
Correct. So at no point did I say that putting money up absolves him of any blame. I actually said the opposite. Of course someone who invests their own money should not be viewed as negatively as someone with no skin in the game and pretty much no incentive for things to get better, hence my example of Lowe and also Guy Ashkam.
-
I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest you haven't read what I've written.
-
The most culpable of all? Give it a rest. Again, he is worthy of some criticism but he's put his money into the club.
