The Starmer Years - Can The New Broom Sweep Clean?
hypochondriac replied to sadoldgit's topic in The Lounge
Maybe. Maybe there's a superinjunction. I'm sure it will come out eventually and we can judge for ourselves. -
Maybe he thought going incognito would help his chances. No such luck!

Again, she was in the video clip but talking about there being an open secret amongst journalists in general. It's been mentioned on social media by other journalists too. It's really the message that's of importance here, not the single messenger. -

I certainly hope it is survivable because the alternative is Rayner and then God help us all. -

She's the person in the clip but they were talking about other journalists. There's clearly something not being said. On another note, did anyone ever find out what happened with Nick Brown and if this is related in any way? -

Sounds likely to me that she knows the details. Maybe the telegraph are keeping the details for Sunday. My guess is it's an historic affair or he's gay. -

Rumours abound of an affair as a possible explanation for why Starmer was in lord Alli's flat. I expect if there's any truth in the rumours it will most likely surface in the Sunday papers if they can justify it as newsworthy. -

Talk amongst journalists of a secret regarding Starmer's love life apparently -
What part of the Muslim faith mandates full body coverings of women?
-
No. There are undoubtedly some religious fanatics in Israel. I certainly wouldn't tar all those who claim to be right wing as that though.
-
Not particularly fair to criticise tall paul for his performance at saints. He's barely had a sniff. He might well be a total flop but he's never been given a real opportunity if we are honest.
-
That would be the case anyway. The existence of Israel is motivation enough for religious fanatics.

Social media has been the very worst thing to happen to politics. It's led to dumbing down and lowest common denominator stuff. Benn was clearly a man of great substance who didn't dumb down for anyone. Lots to disagree with him about but you can absolutely respect his skill and oratory abilities. -

I just think Corbyn doesn't really do anything. If you gave him £100 I doubt he'd have anything to spend it on. -

Although he was a clear disaster for the country, it does rather highlight how these donations are political choices when you see things like this: -

Sounds like it was guidance at the time so not technically rules. -

It does when you're typing on a phone. Thankfully I'm not foreign secretary. -

Paul embery posted this up on twitter earlier and I watched it again as I do every time it pops up on social media. Say what you like about him but he was a monumental politician. It makes you want to weep at the state of politics in this country now that we have no one even close to this nowadays. What a great man irrespective of the politics you follow. https://x.com/PaulEmbery/status/1839050541990637935?t=ziZ3OYCdqZgs6DAhWTDXLQ&s=19 -
Great result that. Good chance to progress and nice to be at home. At least two of the bigger teams will be out and a few of the other prem sides too. Always good to get some more games to give our squad players a run out.

I wasn't really commenting on the comment from the twitter poster but lammy has proven time and again that he's unintelligent and frankly nothing but a race grifter who sees the world through a racial lens which is the type of politics I loath. You're most likely right on Russia by the way and that outcome is probably the best we can hope for.
