We have multiple millions coming in this year. A ten million net spend is not spending millions we don't have.

Spent money we don't have? If we sold all those you're suggesting then we have only spent ten million net this summer which is relatively little.

I don't think he will be back but if he did come back a loan with obligation to buy if we stay up makes sense for all parties surely?

What about if we signed targett in addition to the other signings we needed? Someone like Fernandes looks to me like a decent signing but whether he's a good one for us or not will depend on who we get for the other positions that we need more

That's true but there hasn't been a single link to him this summer which in a summer of being linked to every single player I would say is quite telling.

Losing kwp at this stage and replacing him with someone bang average will be a big blow and it would then be a fair argument to say that our defence is worse than last year. No idea why anyone thinks we woukd get jwp back. We are literally just signing a box to box player. Not going to happen.

Seems to me like we want some different midfielders who can perform different roles rather necessarily being backups to each other. You'd think we will still bring in a dynamic AM which is again different from what we have.

I think given that he hasn't been held to account for it that he suspects it's an easy thing to say to deflect the question. He's probably right in that case. When he mentioned about specialists the other week I'd have liked someone to probe him a bit deeper with that. Why for instance did he make a big deal out of Stewart having a full preseason and that being really important and then he has zero preseason and we don't see him anywhere. Where was he during preseason?

In that vein and given that we seemingly have a decent relationship with them, I wonder if we could exploit that so they can offload one of their keepers to us?
