  1. Disadvantaged families should get help (early years pupil premium is being introduced soon for example which is something even if it's not enough). Sure start was never the answer.
  2. Those sure start centres lost money hand over fist and we're rightly shut down. Trust me I know what I'm talking about because I had to deal with them on a weekly basis (still do sometimes.) So are you saying that labour would have spent a lot less then? Because all I've been hearing for five years was what a terrible policy the Tories have and how they are cutting too much.
  3. And yet if they had cut any more than they had done then labour would be hammering them! Labour's term in office is characterised by idiot schemes like sure start centres which have now mostly been closed down. They weren't used anything like enough to be justified and lost a load of money yet labour made a big fuss when they were closed. Sums them up.
  4. Let's not deal in hypotheticals, it's a poor argument.
  5. The crash wasn't their fault but their utter failure to prepare even slightly for that possibility was.
  6. Of course they wouldn't admit any sort of responsibility which is why labour refusing to enter into coalition with them is the perfect "out." They can hold labour over a barrel every week, whilst blaming everything on them and claiming no responsibility because they won't be the ones in power. Then when it goes tits up they can return to holyrood saying "I told you so" and their independence campaign gets that bit closer. They won't be tainted like the lib dems have been and they will no doubt be much more willing to refuse things rather than seeking a compromise for the good of the UK as a whole. The main difference and why they are more of a danger is because they won't see themselves as a minority partner (as the lib dems have) they will consider themselves the majority party for the area they are in any way bothered about.
  7. It's nothing to do with the referendum. The snp still want the Scots to be independent and that's their ultimate goal. Why would they want the UK to work well if they want to go it alone? It's in their interest for it not to work so that they can make the case for independence again. Salmond has shown before that he doesn't care a jot for the English and I don't want their party having an influence on my life thanks.
  8. Why would any sane Englishman want a party in government whose interest is for the UK to descend into chaos and thus hasten it's break up? How could anyone support that? I don't have the figures to hand but my guess is that the vast majority (including labour voters) would not support the snp presiding over the governance of the United Kingdom.
  9. You said that if you gave people the choice between likely coalitions then they would go for the one that involved the snp. I totally disagree because the English public will not support the snp in any form. That isn't to say that that won't be what we end up with, just that given the choice that isn't what would be first choice. Sorry about that.
  10. Well i massively disagree with that. I don't think any English people will vote the snp into any sort of power. Why would they?
  11. It would win over labour/anyone else as well.
  12. So would I solentstars. We agree!
  13. Indeed we do but I think the polls show that more agreed with my point of view. Not that it matters anyway because I won't be voting for ukip.
  14. His point on eastern European immigration is unarguable. Whether you agree with him or not, he comes across as a lot more sincere than both ed and dave.
  15. Bennett was the worst one there so I certainly don't agree there.
  16. Where did I mention anything about running the country? Farage won't be running the country so it's an irrelevant point. His inappropriate comment about hiv aside, he did alright. Not the best by any means but I would say better than Milliband and the greens.
  17. Your clear bias against ukip is obvious. I didn't like that comment but Nigel still did better than a lot of them.
  18. They will do roughly the same as labour which suggests that they are disliked a similar amount. Tbh both of them are total rubbish and if I could come for someone else to ensure that we had a different party running things then I would. Simple fact is that the choice is labour or Tory and I don't trust ed on the economy nor do I want him as the figurehead of the country.
  19. I can see Nigel's point but it wasn't really the time nor the place to bring it up. When you have 30 seconds to get a point across, you can't say something Potentially explosive like that.
  20. She's a train wreck. I'm surprised they don't still have caroline lucas in charge, she was much more errudite.
  21. It's a nonsense surely?
  22. I agree with that. Maybe have Bennett at the bottom.
  23. It's the only choice really. I wish we had someone worth voting for.
  24. It's pathetic. Why is her opinion more important than anyone else? She needs to control herself.
  25. I want a charismatic and trustworthy leader with good policies. Failing that then I'll take the best leader with the best policies.
