he is clearly too good for this division, and at his age only improving, a player who could easily match the owner's ambition for the club if we can hang onto him until premiership
-
sorry, my point exactly, Alpine appeared to be criticising Schneiderlin again implying he is often out. Think Alpine is wrong about Schneiderlin.
-
why not??
-
only managed to play 47 games for us last season.
-
v good player at this level and would be up for the journey - not sure how Pardew would be planning his first choice midfield though. Schneiderlin - one of first names on team sheet Hammond - capt and rated by Pardew Lalllana - 20 goals Surman Puncheon??
-
if we need 6 CBs it makes more sense to go into loan market.

Andronikou said: “We shall have a more accurate picture of the final totals when the CVA is presented to creditors on Friday.” But he denied that Pompey will start life in the Championship with a 17-point deduction if they are still in administration. “That is rubbish,” Andronikou said. “It goes against natural justice and fair play. In any case, we are planning to exit administration via the CVA.”

Pardew has openly said that he is aiming to win this league this season. He has also said that the players he wants to sign are players that will be good enough to compete for play offs in CCC the season after, so the same team will last two seasons. The players released are not likely to be first choice, or even 2nd, for the champions.

they haven't been but that was their suggestion for in, I think, 9 months
-
using wiki looks like Norwich only has about 3??? Think Fonte / Seaborne is likely to be Pardew's first choice, with Jaidi as cover for experience for Fonte, and Martin for Seaborne.
-
how many CBs did the likes of Leeds and Norwich have last year? Don't know enough about their squads but would be surprised if they had more than 4.
-
fact is those player are not likely to be first team players.
-
still think most likely is cva accepted and no points penalties for next season. - unless something comes out about agents etc

I am surprised how many he has cut as well - but think it is about time that our squad was a first team squad - players all good enough to be fighting for a start. The performances I have seen from Fonte, Seaborne, Jaidi and Martin this season suggest that Perry and Thomas - both players I like - are way down the pecking order, as well as being older than most of our other CBs. I would not have kept either. AP has made these choices based on seeing all of their games, them every day in training and - probably most importantly - with the knowledge of his budget and what players are available. The signings he has made have all improved the first 22 so I think it is fair to say that he does know what he is doing. Our first 11 is probably: KD new RB Fonte / Seaborne or Jaidi Harding Lallana Schneiderlin Hammond Puncheon Lambert Barnard So not really a problem for gelling unless loads of those go. Do you really think he would have released two decent RBs in James and otsemobor if he didn't have a plan to improve in that area?

take it this is a p1ss take?
-
you are of course correct, it is nearer 11 months than 12, guess he means a year in football terms - i.e. a season. I think what people like about him is the Mourinhio thing - confident, not after making friends but knows what is needed to make success.
-
leaked, or made up...we don't know. He knew months ago that fans were strongly behind Pardew.
