another for winning.

why did we lose to Brighton? Looks even worse now!
-
I was. You weren't first, NickF was first but we don't like to talk about him
-
think yellow was right for the Antonio one - but he made a lot of other mistakes When Papa went down in box - didn't have clear view but to me looked like either pushed or dived -so penalty or booking? Two punches on James - yellow?
-
Poll closed result won 98% lost 2% all future debates over victories after extra time or penalties banned from forum

when James was on the ground at the touchline their player punched him twice in the back - not hardest punches but clearly fists and arms pulled back - about two foot away from the linesman - a booking?
-
right in front of me - two very clear and intended punches into his back as he was on the ground. The linesman could not have missed it. Clearly two punches is only worth a yellow

good, agreed we won. Had managed to convince myself I didn't care about JPT until we equalised (by the way it was more than 3 mins after the 90!)
-
he did actually, I was surprised, he said "I would like to take the opportunity to apologise to Mr Murray and Fitzhugh Fella for being a spoilt prima donna".

played 16 won 13 drawn 2 lost 1 scored 42 against 20

Interesting interview on Solent with Cortese; would not have taken the job to be chairman just in league 1 - only to be a premiership chairman. The club is totally debt free and is not going to use banks for finance. The training ground development is all being paid with by Liebherr putting his hand in his pocket and fans should not worry about the club building up debts.

To be democratic, on the most contentious issue since the takeover, for future discussions on form; Did we win tonight? Yes? No?

In Feb 2005 Rochdale signed him as a midfielder. Sometime in that season and a half he changed to a forward. He scored 28 goals in 64 games. I think any forward who gets close to 1 in 2 games is doing very well - and remember he started as a midfielder for some of those 64. In his first ever full season as a forward he scored 22 goals and was league 2's top scorer. Think he had 3 seasons with Rovers, starting fairly slow/steady but obviously with a great season last year. Think he is still getting better!
-
unless you are a top CCC side going for promotion there isn't a huge difference in status between league 1 and CCC. Not nearly same draw as prem sides attracting CCC players
-
I was joking! 20 is good target for any forward. He has said his target is 31 this year (to beat last years 30)
-
Pardew said he should be disappointed if he fails to score in any game. On basis that he scores two some games think a league target of 50 is reasonable?

if Liebherr is worth the reported £2.5 billion. Lets say, for easy maths his spending plan is; club from administration £15m training ground / initial redevlopment stadium / academy etc £5m playing investment 09/10 £3m 10/11 £5m 11/12 £7m 12/13 £10m total spend £45m. A lot of money. But 1.8% of his worth. I don't know what the average worth of "normal" people is but, again for easy maths perhaps £500,000? 1.8% of that is £9,000. Sure if you were going to invest £9k you would want a return. But a lot of people would blow that on motorbike, holiday, boat etc for pleasure. I am hoping this is how he looks at it!

signed as midfielder in 2005 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/r/rochdale/4274207.stm still learning his craft!
-
Can't remember the interview exactly but heard Lambert saying he only started playing up front about 2 or 3 years ago - and the goals came straight away. Before that think he was CM. Still only 27 and not a pace player so could have another 5 years (or 150 goals!) out of him.

Too late, you agreed the Christmas radio times would have the final word. We play Exeter on Boxing Day. When my parent invite us over for dinner on Boxing Day I think they would be pretty p1ssed off if we didn't arrive until the Monday!
-
Pardew has said, if by the end of January we are within 7 points of the play offs then we will have a good chance of making them. Therefore, by his reckoning we need to catch up 2 points by the end of next month

I read it like this; football club and paper have special relationship - mutual benefit. This involves the club giving them preferential contact/access They spoke to Cortese about this planning issue and wanted to publish Cortese wanted to wait (perhaps to manage local issue around planning etc) Echo felt it was in public domain and decided to go ahead Cortese felt they had broken their relationship and asked for a meeting to discuss In the meantime he instructed the club to not allow privileged access to echo until this meeting Echo got annoyed and tried to arrange the meeting - which is clearly more important to them than it is to Cortese and he is not rushing to sort it. I feel it is bit sad that this hasn't been sorted and am sure it will. I do not think Murray's Lowe comments were particularly mature. Cortese maybe over reacting but hardly see where we can see him being a pompous ass and prima donna (FF) or to say boardroom shenanigans have returned (Murray)
