He can hide behind the fact that we do not know how bad the financial situation is. Would we have gone bust if we kept those wages? What loan fees did we get? Football is simple to judge though - on the pitch. This season it hasn't been good enough. Last season we were poor and could not have been much closer to relegation. We got rid of loads of salaries this season, Wright x2, Lucketti, Viafara, Idiakez, Safri (big loss IMHO), John, Rasiak. So what was realistic to expect? There were mistakes, of course. Jan didn't work out, took too long to get good replacement for Svensson (about 3 years too long!). The make up of the side isn't hugely different to the start of the season -we introduced Lallana, Gillet, James, and DMG as first team players -and they are still there. The young players signed - Holmes, Schneiderlin, and Ryan Smith will still be part of the first team squad. Wasn't Paul Wooton the first signing of this new set up? I don't think there has been a huge U turn - except on the personality managing the team

if I was them I would get them out quick after 2 homes wins!

whilst I agree with most of above -everything to me suggests exactly the opposite to the bit in bold, which is why we have improved

yes saw all of their saints careers. With your team, ball and case in the middle -MLT would cause havoc

Not gone on those threads as the pettiness was getting silly on some of the board room/ protest threads recently. I go for the football and thats what I will judge on. (truth is we don't know who made what decisions on who could play, and what was his policy anyway? Try and bring young players in asap? Certainly using Lallana, James and Gillett who were not in first 11 last year, and DMG ...doh drifting into politics!

not read everything today but can't say seen anyone saying we are safe? Certainly lot more confident than I was leaving St Marys after Doncaster. All games since he's been in charge have shown improvement, beating the 4th place team two weeks in a row (and Cardiff who I think he the least defeats, least away defeats and were on quite a run) has definately given good reason for optimism -but the league table prevents that running as far as confidence.

think you are faster and sharper at that age but not as strong or have as much stamina. Also they went (particularly Gillet) through a huge amount of work -ther first half hour was a sprinting session. Wotte did say that DMG tired as he wasn't used to the midfield role yet.

thought DMG worked very hard today -until just before he came off. Chasing around, sliding tackles -got a standing ovation when he came off -don't think just for a penalty.

not sure which post you are referring to? But last two games he has brought him on, and he is big lad, to hold at back for last panic attacks - done it ok, ran out of defence with ball today and think surprised himself how far he got- just kept going until looked a bit confused!
