don't panic -post edited!

http://www.footballpress.net/index.php?action=read&idsel=80274 sorry just seen date and is old article - came up as todays news on google feed guess due to other links on site
-
if you arrive at the ground and hear the team, can't see anyone thinking that any combination of the four is disappointing. personal choice would be Morgan and Jack, expect Hammond to start though due to his experience / captaincy etc
-
think its just background noise now that he doesn't even believe or is interested in himself!
-
think DS/jaidi can do a job there so not a panic, but it probably area with most potential to improve - expect a good signing soon.

How many people have moved ST seats this season?

are you fat? -
wouldn't be stunned with top 4 finish and can be optimistic, somewhere 4th to 9th looks most likely to me with present set up. This league is bit random though

02/03 squad http://en.eufo.de/football/squad/southampton-fc/2002-03 03/04 http://en.eufo.de/football/squad/southampton-fc/2003-04 was quite a bit of depth then - maybe some better players than now but not as good comparatively if that makes sense (today's 2nd 11 would still be decent championship side, those 2nd 11's would not have survived in prem)
-
who were first 11 then? Could put a case that midfield is stronger now
-
sure we can improve but there are no glaring weaknesses.
-
didn't think Seaborne had his best game. best thing for me was how we kept possession - although lacking goal threat at times in first half
-
personally I would but think Hammonds experience puts him ahead for Adkins. I would probably Jaidi in, and both fullbacks you could toss a coin as they are so close.
-
you could make a case for several of those - which suppose is my point!
-
We have had a lot better players than we have now over the years, but in the past we seemed to have quite poor back up players. I can't remember us having two decent players for each position. There is a good chance the following 11 will all be fit for the first game of the season and not start: Bart, Butterfield, Jaidi, Martin, Dickson, Ox-C, Chaplow, Schneiderlin, Holmes, Guly and Barnard!
-
think a lot on here didn't expect, or see the need to high profile signings. It is still early into the transfer window (in the times when high proportion of signings are done) and it looks like we have signed two excellent midfielders. Sure the team could always be improved but when you have the real possibility that these players won't make our first 11 we aren't too badly off! Not starting 11? Bart, Butterfield, Jaidi, Martin, Dickson, Ox-C, Chaplow, Schneiderlin, Holmes, Guly and Barnard!

thought MS/JC looked mobile and worked well

not so sure its age thing - 30 isn't old for CB -Rio is 32, Terry 30, Vidic is 30 just into new season. Agree it sounds odd. -

for those on phones this is the football rumours site; 26 Jul 2011 10:26:19 Nick Maynard is at Southampton this morning for a medical before signing a 4 year deal. Bristol City accepted the saints increased offer of £4.25m Tunisian center back, Jemal has already signed last night for £1.4m. Both will be announced at a news conference at 5pm this evening. Puncheon will be leaving for Millwall on a 3 year deal, costing the London club £480k. This will conclude all cash deals for Southampton, with Chamberlaine agreeing to stay for a further season. It's understood that Southampton have agreed they sell him if they miss promotion this season. Adkins will now concentrate on persuading Huddersfield to loan him keeper Smithies for the season with a view to purchase next June.

I appreciate that you, like others of us have pain associated with the word cancer but it also has non-medical definition, "an evil influence that spreads dangerously" - and think its this context the poster meant.
