  1. When I was in my teens watching from Milton or under West Stand I sang and chanted, but that was 40 years or so ago. My dad had an East Stand season ticket, he and most of those in the seats hardly ever seemed to sing or chant, stamping their feet on the wooden floors was about as animated as it got. Double those numbers of singers and non-singers into St Mary's and you can see why there are quiet areas. It's just the way it is, always has been and probably always will be.
  2. Well put VFTT. I tried the irony/sarcasm route but you are right. He is cu_nt. Didn't know he was a fat one though
  3. Welcome back Alps, hope your absence from the board recently hasn't been due to illness or anything nasty like that.2
  4. I was intending heading out on the club Saturday Social ride, but only gave myself an hour to get sorted. Couldn't find Garmin, couldn't find HRM and when I went to put some air in No1 bike's tyres the valve was ****ed. I aslo needed petrol so after much rushing around like a blue arsed fly I abandoned the idea. They did a big(ish) loop out to White Down (Watership Down) and back via Overton and then through Old Basing. Good job I dipped out as I didn't have the time spare that they took. So to the garage and three flat laps of Watopia with sweet spot/threshold efforts added in on sprint and climbs.
  5. https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/2074676/sam-mcqueen-to-liverpool-reds-to-battle-leicester-for-southampton-defender-after-impressive-string-of-performances/ Looks like it's started.
  6. Just re-watched the Sky Sports doc Le God Agree with LDH his love for the club shines through, but the fact that someone with that ability played for our club, for that long just stirs the emotions. Even his tap-ins were great tap-ins and as for the rest well..............need I say more apart from there can't be many players anywhere in world football over many decades that have scored that many great goals as Le Tiss. Remarkable.
  7. Was at Gatwick on the way to Portugal for our first holiday after our daughter was born. Always remember watching Final Score and Harry Gration's report. fortunately the place we were staying had Sky so was able to catch the action later.
  8. Aggregation of marginal gains! Works for British Cycling/Team Sky. Been using similar ideas in 1 to 1 academic coaching at work.
  9. I'm reverse. Born in Limavady of English parents with Dad's family hailing from St Mary's area of Southampton. All courtesy of a posting by the Fleet Air Arm to RAF Eglinton, which I believe is now City of Derry Airport. Came back to Winchester as a baby in April 1957 and never been since. Wife has been a few times on business, most notably on Sept 11 2001 when she was in Belfast City Airport watching events in NYC unfold.
  10. I believe he did. By the time I saw my first game at the Dell against Leeds in October 1963 he was a fixture in the team. Went on to play the best part of 400 games for a dominant Leeds under Revie a team which didn't have weak links. He was a good keeper but things like the Peter Houseman goal in 1970 Cup Final show that he was prone an error or two.
  11. Those old enough and with still functioning memories will remember him chucking one in his own net in a true comedy goalkeeping moment. Brilliant on his day but prone to some absolute howlers.
  12. Has everyone stopped? Back on it after short break. Knocked out a few K's around north Hampshire on Saturday roll on the Alps at the end of June next year.
  13. Great post Sandwich!
  14. One hopes you had you tongue planted firmly in your Cheek when you typed this!
  15. What is it with you people what are you trying to prove? "Killer blows", "Donuts", All a necessary part of a debate? Or just plain insulting bullying? Your side won. The mandate of the electorate regrettably, but most importantly democratically must be upheld. Why the crowing? Between you, WT and Dickhunter you seek to come on here and belittle those who disagree with you. Can only hope if the economy does go tits up as a result of Brexit then there might be a pegging back of some of the rhetoric on here, but I'm not holding my breath.
  16. We all know from experience what happens when idiots get off their arses to vote, don't we?
  17. Francis Underwood's fictional president looks like an angel next to these two clowns
  18. Interested to know that he came from Hurling not Gaelic Football, that I didn't know. Either way it was obviously fantastic fitness conditioning for life as a footballer. Comes across very well also. Feet firmly planted.
  19. http://www.itv.com/news/2016-10-07/governemnt-ban-on-foreign-academics-advising-on-brexit-baffling/ http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/amber-rudd-immigration-speech-tory-conference-brexit-foreign-workers-british-jobs-a7345536.html http://www.lbc.co.uk/radio/presenters/james-obrien/james-amber-rudds-speech-echoes-mein-kampf/ Now I know that the last one might be a little tenuous especially as delivered by a 'shock jock' you cannot ignore the move towards what appears to be state sponsored xenophobia!
  20. Funniest thing I've read in ages>
  21. Nothing wrong with being 58 and retired. FWIW worth I've spent my morning trying to get my 58 year old head and hands around FIFA 17 on the PS4. BTW Saints will lose 2-1 at home to Burnley courtesy of a Sam Vokes goal and an own goal by Ryan Bertrand.Steven Davis will get a consolation.
  22. Would it be uncharitable as a disgruntled Remainer to hope that Toyota pull out of Derby and Nissan out of Sunderland to really shaft the employment situation in those areas. Just like turkeys voting for Xmas. ****wits!
  23. Hmmm! More gloating.
  24. And an extra toe or two!
  25. You're not wrong there VFTT. colossal cu_nt also applies to Alpine and to Heisen p r i c k and the emerging larry12. I was told football message boards were full of some very strange people many years ago. How right they were!
