  1. Would be interesting to know what further austerity measures you think would help balance the books.
  2. Our problem is scoring from midfield not necessarily playing through it. He would take nothing away from the latter, but would add nothing to the former. Perhaps Sigurdsson would be a better bet.
  3. Interested to know why.
  4. Kind of what I felt. More of a maintain the status quo player rather than an upgrade.
  5. OK staff room discussion this lunchtime seemed to be about Joe Allen and where he would be playing next season. One view was that he would be an ideal player for Saints, one which I pretty much poo-pooed. I'm not sure whether there was a somewhat parochial view that he would improve us because he was a Liverpool player and that any unwanted Liverpool player would add to us merely because he played for Liverpool and we were Saints, but I pretty much disagreed that he would improve us. One view put forward was that he was 'better' than Steven Davis. So I thought this through and tried to rationalise whether we could indeed be missing out. I feel that Allen is a number of things; a tidy passer, albeit rather too sideways and a bit of a breaker up of play sprung to mind, but I struggled beyond that. I don't think he is dynamic enough for us and would slow things down through the middle in a team that will play with a press and move the ball forward quickly under Claude Puel. My view is that JWP is not dissimilar, nor is Clasie in some ways and I couldn't see Allen improving on what they already give. In addition we are talking about a non first-team regular for a team we finished above, so over to you. Would Joe Allen improve us?
  6. Cav talking up being there for duration, he won't want to let team or charity down by quitting early, Ventoux might be a tipping point though. He is on the best form for years, but there again form is temporary, class is permanent, and he has bags of that. Equalling the record of Le Blaireau is astonishing. Really, let's put this in perspective in terms of achievement, I am seriously struggling to think of a Brit sportsman quite at his level within his own sport.
  7. Who will be the first on here moaning that we've missed an opportunity and should have signed him, especially as he played for Nice?
  8. Just re watched it. Cav had a hell of a lead out from Sagan. Lol.
  9. Don't know why but can't see VVD, FF or Bertrand being with us at the end of the transfer window. Scousers at work are adamant they will get Bertrand. They were right about Mane weeks ago and the RB thing has had legs since around the same time. Prepare for another evisceration. We are too good for our own good. They will not ever let us join the party!
  10. Young sprinter think he was born in New Zealand. Riding pro-continental with FVC formerly Bretagne Seche Environnement.
  11. Which two stages do you think he will target then? Stage 10 looks a possibility as it is the transition out of the Pyrenees, with a Cummings like bump at the end and possibly Stage 5 into the Massif Central or perhaps Stage 16.
  12. I agree. Shame others seem to think we are on the road back there with this appointment. I would rather watch Saints try and play good football and come unstuck occasionally than watch the sterile boredom of Koeman's mid-season.
  13. He might well leave, but they think they've signed a midfield player in Mane not a forward. LOL. Thick c u n t s!
  14. Liverpool fans at work delighted. Their no 1 target this summer. Reckon he will play right midfield and displace Lallana. They've go no fecking clue. Won't dislodge Sturridge or Coutinho, so why did they buy him?
  15. Leeson vaary carefuelly. Ah weel say zis onli wance! Good moaning!
  16. Ronald couldn't say it either, so let's not damn him for having a foreign accent! Oh I forgot! We're allowed to do that since last Friday.
  17. And if by chance we do will you still be there in the Championship. I will, and so may you, but I'm not sure about some on here.
  18. Got to half time. Then GoT seemed a much more exciting option, as it proved to be.
  19. Really!! Tongue. Cheek and all that kind of stuff. A little bit of adversity does bring out the worst in people. We will be fine!
  20. My take on it. Hart k u n t Walker k u n t Rose k u n t Smalling k u n t cahill k u n t Ohhh! You get the picture.
  21. Get the WAGS to do a Walk of Atonement! Shame! Shame!.......Shame!
  22. Don't bother. We'll be relegated by Xmas!
  23. Nah. It's an internet message board where Saints fans come on and talk ******, most of which is harmless opinion and speculation. A debate is something which happens face to face unlike here where insults by keyboard warriors are cheap and can be made with little or no consequence.
  24. It was always going to be thus. The only people who think SFC have any relevance or right to be anywhere near the top table are us. Get used to it. Hope VvD and FF are Saints players come 1st Sept, but not holding my breath. Not the club's fault, mainly agents looking for a payday. Everton wanted Koeman, they got him. On GOT they stated that if they wanted him they would get him and they were right. Liverpool fans at work told me Mane was signing for £30 million next week, they were right. frustrating as it is we will never compete. My advice, enjoy Saints for what they are, not what they can never be.
  25. No-one likes a bad loser, but it cuts both ways. Perhaps that is something those crowing over the victory to leave would like to reflect on.
