We created some good chances early on but made bad decisions and they went begging, the worst Guly not hitting the target with a header from a yard out. Lallana and Lee worked openings but we needed Lambert to make the effort to get into the box, it was always the wrong player on the end of things. The centre of midfield was again where we weren't at the races. The less said about Hammond the better. Schneiderlin is a keep possession player whose whole game is based on just passing, sideways, backwards it doesn't matter to him. A lot of his sideways and backwards passes just inevitably end up back with Davis. We need a proper playmaker like Noble of West Ham who is combative but hits passes into dangerous areas as a first option. When Schneiderlin has the ball it mostly goes short and ends in nothing. For me he is a wasted talent that is far too conservative. The full backs were both poor but Harding was awful in the second half, he plays like he has a brick for a brain. The centre of the defence was OK but Davis when not acting as a superlative shotstopper drives me mad. He has a good long ball but his short game is atrocious so we aren't playing out from the back. Yesterday he had numerous opportunities to one touch passes to obvious unmarked colleagues but just dwelled on the ball taking multiple touches whilst dithering allowing the options to be closed down but still passing to a player who is then pressured and passes back to him to then clear anywhere under pressure. If he isn't going to first time release the ball he should play long without the pressure, rather than delay and invite the hasty clearance that usually gives the ball away. It was crying out for SDR to be brought on and luckily again feeding off scraps he laid on two clear chances one converted. If DeRidder is playing, Richardson has to just give him the ball and support inside unless SDR comes inside and leaves the opening for an overlap, running in front of him is just taking up the space he needs to run into. DeRidder needs a playmaker to play the balls into space for him to exploit we are just wasting him if don't use him properly. Jos had Scotland penned against the touchline then firstly let him turn, then didn't force him down the line, letting him come inside was suicide after Schneiderlin slipped, the deflection summed up the evening for me, wasted chances and a bit of bad luck after sloppy defending. The tempo was low and we need to pressurise harder higher up the pitch, I got the impression that some players were caught out with the complacency of a routine collection of a win bonus. It won't happen without the effort. Sharp doesn't look the part yet, he looks very chunky to me but maybe that's his shape.

TB says £14m still to come with football debts £7m to £10m. The parachute payments are held by the FA and paid directly to the football debtors, so the football creditors rule judgement is critical. If that is overturned then the parachute payments would go into the pot, but as there is none due until 2013, that wouldn't apply if they are liquidated..

We are guaranteed the money as we are a football creditor. Probably already been paid for the previous debt out of the parachute payments. If the law changes then it could be interesting, I can see NC demanding payment before access.

Much more sensible, but still flying on the day would cause reactions in passengers. At least we won.

I like DeRidder, he has been a little unlucky because he has either played in a reserve team or mostly when we weren't playing well. He certainly made a massive difference after coming on at half time when we were losing against Hull.

Jesus H Christ, they must be bloody daft, they would be better hitch hiking. Bloody noisy uncomfortable heaps. I thought it would be a Flybe Q400 at the worst.

Harding is the natural stand in for Fox. As such he will give his all, with Dickson at Orient, he is our best left back until Fox is fit. He didn't do too badly at Leeds when their wide players were pushing up the touchlines. My biggest criticism of him, he doesn't check his six often enough and gets blindsided.
-
I am told Adkins never saw him play before he was brought in. I don't think he will get in before DeRidder etc. In any event Chaplow on the left, Guly on the right has worked this season. Puncheon like Lallana is best on his wrong side and has never been that effective wide left.

I was an airline pilot for 35 years both long haul and short haul, sometimes 6 flights a day. There is no doubt in my mind that there would be an effect on the individuals. Weston told me on Thursday that the team were flying up on Saturday and I thought then that it wasn't really the best thing to do, especially as they are usually so meticulous about their sports science preparation. But then it is not something they would have experience of. The day before would have been fine but on the morning, I just can't see that there wouldn't be a reaction.

I've learned my lesson, I keep going and let the traffic flow take care of itself.

Chanrai could have a problem as he is due to stand trial on money laundering in HK is he not?

I'm not sure flying up on the day was the most sensible thing to do. Logistically it was the most convenient. I know it was only a fifty minute flight but there are other considerations. Some people are nervous of flying for a start, and even for those who are not, flying provides uncomfortable moments. Leeds is not the most routine airport to fly into. It is the safest way to travel but most people don't relish the flight itself. Going there and back by air on the same day was probably the only cost effective way of doing it, as the aircraft wouldn't have stayed in Leeds if it had been two days. There could have been an effect on some of the players.

We battled at the back but as we didn't shut them down higher up the park and backing off we made ourselves vulnerable. Leeds most of the time played into our hands by hoisting loads of Lloyd James type balls into the goalmouth. It's an old saying, "Pressure doesn't win matches", today that was true. Leeds had lots of balls pinging around the goal area but created nothing as clear as Lambert's goal after Chaplow, Richardson, Cork, and Lee cut Leeds apart. All Leeds frenetic play culminated in pressurised snatched chances. Davis was in his element, he is undoubtedly if deficient in some areas, a superb shotstopper. His finest moment after one of his forlorn hope charges off his line with no hope of getting the ball was a magnificent double safe and clearing slap at the ball. We gave far too many silly little fouls away in our half which just added to the pressure. Richardson and Fonte didn't have their best game today and I think Bechio concentrated on Fonte as Hoiveldt is much better in the air. In the end we battled out a win provided by really one of the three clear moves all provided by us that played attackers clear one on one with the goalkeeper. Leeds had pressure but because of the lofted balls weren't able to play through us.

Brilliant shot stopping won the game for us after a class team goal.

That will really work as we still have to play them.

Was the accident opposite the chip shop?

Presumably he's now expecting PFC to receive the £2.2m no matter what arrangement pre administration.

The League would be in deep mire if they propped up Pompey with say an advance of the TV money for this season, which in itself might not bring a points penalty. Pompey beat the drop and are bought at the eleventh hour and three other clubs are relegated. The only thing the League can do is leave it to the Administrator and if they liquidate carry out the League rules.

It looks like the 2013 parachute payments are already allocated to football debts, then 2014 payments £8m could if not required be available. It looks like there is nothing due for two years.

And your comments show you realised the problems. Should he have scored, I haven't a clue, but it wasn't easy to react, a pace back or forward and it would have been a tap in, but in exactly the position he was he wasn't able to react quickly enough, I've been there and by the sounds of it so have you. The pal I sit with, was widely recognised as the best player in his era not playing full time professional football (By choice I would add) in the Southern area, he like me only saw the replay and also felt that it just didn't fall right making it a half chance.
-
And from where Billy Sharp was running in full pelt it was difficult, that's the difference. To even make a remark that there was plenty of time shows a total lack of football understanding.
-
The answer to the creditors rule is simple if teams try and ditch their debts by going into admin. Withdraw the registrations of players who are not paid for until a new agreement is contracted to pay off the original transfer fee post administration. Allow no new players to be signed until that happens.

It is quite obvious that the people on here that dismiss the chance that came back off Green at West Ham as easy have never played at any level. I had heard that it was an easy chance into an open goal but when I saw the chance it was nothing of the sort. The ball hit Green and came back off him like a bullet, Sharp was running in and had no time to adjust to get his boot to the ball, it really just hit him and deflected back towards goal. The fact that Green was on the ground and the goal was open was irrelevant as Sharp had no chance to set himself. It was a difficult chance and would have needed a lucky bounce off him to go in.
