  1. Why would players walk away. If PFC are liquidated their contracts revert to the league and under the FCR will be paid in full out of outstanding PPs. It would only be if the players could negotiate severance terms and have a new lucrative contract to go to that they would leave. I think they are clutching at straws.

    RM slot

Which was an unmitigated disaster, doubled our goals against and produced two goals from play in a very poor run of results. If he does that it would hand the initative to WHU on a plate.
  3. There are a lot of flaky comments on here about Saturday. It appears to me that not many if any are ex footballers with the exposure to critical games at any level. I was lucky that the players/teams I was involved in had an inner steel core that came out on the critical occasions. Never mind the variables, do we have the inner steel core? Yes we do and it will take us through on Saturday. Will it be a walkover? No bloody way, we will have to battle to impose our quality and we will. It is the way that good teams impose themselves, fight for the right to play. I'm not sure we need the strollers, ie. Schneiderlin and Guly on Saturday. I'd stick with the midfield with DeRidder's pace down the right. Richardson or Butterfield, Richardson was poor after his injury and Butterfield is steady. If DeRidder play Butterfield, If Guly maybe Richardson. One thing I do know we don't need to give silly free kicks away in range as McSheffrey is a bloody good free kick taker.
  4. Maybe if we hadn't tried to pressure the referee and just left it to him he may have booked Hines. It was a lack of discipline that lost us the game, from Fonte, from Davis not resetting the wall after the ball was moved left, by the players who tried to bully the referee into a sending off.
  5. Would WHU swop places with us? Too bloody right they would. We are in a marvelous position and it is in our own hands. The play offs are a tough arena, a one off against Coventry has got to be the easier option. Coventry won't roll over and won't have come to SMS to be humiliated. We treat them like difficult opponents and we will be alright. Give it 90 minutes of effort and application and we should win.
  6. One thing I don't understand, today, the equaliser v Pompey, why do the defenders not under great pressure just head the ball out straight instead of diagonally towards the touchlines. Hoiveldt could easily have headed the ball wide today, instead it dropped straight in front of the centre of the goal. The other thing is the number of attacking headers we head up at the crossbar rather than downwards.
  7. Fonte does this all the time. He had no need to challenge as Butterfield had the ball covered. It was just stupid. As for the free kick the wall was distracted and as the argument was going on Zammama was moving the ball to the left and Davis should have reset the wall to the final ball position. Fonte has been sub standard all season, this constant holding is a nonsense and detracts from his ability to defend. He needs to take a step back and challenge for the header or position for a challenge and stop giving stupid fouls away in dangerous positions. Against Reading for the third goal instead of heading the ball away he tried to hold the nippy Le Fondre off and missed the ball and the man. A chance missed to kill it off and the referee bottled Hines second booking. Beat Coventry and it's done. Might even get done Monday night.
  8. A close mate has a friend in the Police who thought that there just wasn't the evidence to convict but the CPS pressed ahead regardless.
  9. The midfield seems to be doing fine, three good footballing displays despite being mugged by Reading.
  10. No Mike. I take it you are ferrying and driving then. The roads from ABZ south used to be awful when I was based there but I presume that they have improved somewhat. I used to fly everywhere.
  11. Not flying Mike?
  12. I think he should slightly edit his comments " The best dead ball team in the division"
  13. Gordon can I have a quick word, "velocity" priceless.
  14. Can't see why he complains, asks the same questions gets the same answers, ask different questions and the answers may be different. Watch the video, positives'negatives, draw a line we know the response so why does he persist.
  15. I don't care who Reading play in their team, the only difference between the two teams results in the last 12 games is a deflected free kick and a missed penalty at Brighton. Our record is W9 D2 L1 Reading W10 D1 L1. They are coming to play at St Mary's against the best home record in the league W15 D4 L2 44 15, they are going to meet a team who are battle hardened, well up for it and won promotion last season after an epic battle with Huddersfield. If they aren't absolutely on top of their form they are in for a torrid night. Whatever their fans think.
  16. Sounds really ****ed off, still Eastleigh won't ban him next season, look on the bright side.
  17. I'm looking for a Leeds, Birmingham, WHU, Middlesborough, ball busting, high tempo approach for this game.
  18. Either way they will get the general drift, 2 points lost on Sat and 3 more last night added to our incompetent 6 puts them well and truly on the canvas sucking grit.
  19. The penny finally drops.
  20. They brought in Gordon Brown from Derby, he was awful. Brian Clifton was brought in from the reserves, brilliant in the air and very solid on the ground but for some reason Ted didn't rate him. What a goal that was, I think he scored a few on the run in. Tall, strong, became a centre back and was captain at Grimsby for years. We've let some good players go through the years. I think we are easily the best team in the league at home and it will take an exceptional performance to win here on Friday, WHU and Birmingham struggled, we have lost once in 15 games as have Reading. Their dead ball specialist Harte has won a lot of their games either scoring or delivering, they are no great shakes from play and I bet they won't be all out attacking on Friday. If DeRidder gets on he will tear Harte a new one if we give him the ball.
  21. We are more than capable of winining 6 points in 4 games to win promotion. Why on earth with the best home record would we take a draw against Reading.
  22. Crosswinds no problem. Started in Channel Islands, LBA, ABZ much worse than BHX. F27 was the worst a/c in a crosswind, poor rudder and a non steerable nosewheel, differential braking with pneumatic brakes needed to keep straight. Landed 737-400 and 757/767 at BHX downhill on 33 limits no problem. Always a workup, poor handling, late pax, lost bags you name it, BHX has got it in spades.
  23. SMS is the last place any team needing points would want to play at this time of the season. Reading will be in a battle tonight against the crappiest bunch of time wasting opponents who don't care how they win. Injuries/sending offs possible.
  24. Customs, (Its a training centre), Security attitude, only better than nothing. I was a pilot and I found BHX a complete work up.
