  1. The trust could buy/buy into H&W in conference south and change it's name. If the council bought FP from the liquidator they could have a viable proposition. Anybody know if H&W own their ground or is it leased/council owned?
  2. 1960. 3rd division Saints go to 1st division Man City and win 5-1 at Maine Rd.
  3. It doesn't look like Hennessey will be fit until the autumn. I liked Bogdan when he played against us, looks a decent keeper. Looks like Bolton are for the drop after today.
  4. This sets a great example. Well done lads.
  5. Firstly if Bart was nervous and jittery in the Championship, what is he going to be like in the Premier. A mediocre Premier side must have a first class goalkeeper because against the better sides he will be in the game a lot. There is no point in buying a backup, buy the best we can get and let Kelvin fight for his place, after all he could get injured and Bart or Forecast would get us relegated in short order.
  6. Kevin Keegan saw out his contract at Liverpool, went to Hamburg saw out his contract and came to us on a free transfer. Good players who have decided not to re new their contracts would be ideal and I would have thought high on the club's wanted list if suitable.
  7. WHU are doing a PFC, Birmingham are in deep mire financially, Blackpool are stable, but Cardiff have failed twice times in the play offs and lost to Liverpool in the Carling Cup final, because of this I'd like to see Cardiff win for once.
  8. Not all Swedish players are playing in Sweden. It wasn't clarified, just Swedish players.
  9. Pennant looks like he might be available again. Arrested twice in 24 hours. Drink driving, disquaified and no insurance. Alleged assault in club 2 hrs before. What a knob.
  10. The final whistle last Saturday, Job done.
  11. I've heard we are looking closely at Swedish football. Who or where I have no idea.
  12. Appleton sounds like a decent competent manager do we really want him at WBA now that we are in the Premier. Sooner a Billy Big ******** that might cock it up.
  13. To be fair at the time few people had been aware of Adkins. I became aware of him the season S****horpe came to SMS and lost with the young Jack Cork on loan. They played some lovely football but weren't strong enough. After that I kept an eye on S****horpe. There were three managers on my wish list at the time that managed footballing teams. Adkins was followed closely by Lee Clark and Sean O'Driscoll and then Eddie Howe came out of left field. make four. Adkins has done massively well but has proved to be much more pragmatic than I thought he would be. I thought that the beautiful game would come first and results would be subject to that. He has proved to be immensely professional and much more safety first than I thought he would be. We are in good hands. Even if we come back down again I wouldn't want a change. Having said that I don't think we will.

If we are going to bring in players they have to be better than present. There has to be two good goalkeepers, it is not a position that there can be a weakness. Sentiment to one side a top class all round keeper could be a season saver.

Fox ahead of Hoiveldt shows statistics can mean whatever you like. Stand out defender scores eight goals and comes behind Fox, no way.
  16. I think that if we are a Premier club in the long term the next step for the younger players will be loans at appropriate levels. Arsenal and Man Utd do this successfully. Only prodigies will go into the team directly.
  17. Even if I get drawn I won't be going. The club's employees yes, the plastic celebrity now and then's no thanks.
  18. On the official site under news heading don't miss out on the prize of a lifetime.
  19. The twit doesn't even realise we've already booked the richest prize in football along with Reading and the other four are playing off for the remaining prize. Additionally only Cardiff can win the richest prize in football as the other three will lose £32m in parachute payments already accrued. PFC will also miss out on the share out of the £32m that goes to Championship clubs over three years if one of the three get promoted.
  20. Goals will be fewer next season so the central midfielders will need to get about 10 between them. Lambert, Lallana, Sharp, Guly etc will find goals harder to come by so more needed elsewhere.
  21. Our parallel links with Norwich go back to about 1959/60 after Norwich's great cup run when Ron Ashman was captain. Best wishes.
  22. Sooner Reading than anyone else. Knobs- WHU by a mile, Brighton and Portsmouth miles ahead of the rest.
  23. There is a further payment on promotion to the Premier. I suspect the cheque was posted testerday.
  24. We were so so lucky.
  25. This is exactly how we were four seasons ago.
