    Lallana

He was a liability and underperformed for a year. Even his management didn't know where to play him. His present form is down to two things, Waigo wide with pace opening up the opposing back four and a now fit Lambert bringing him into the game. Other than that he is still playing narrow but because of the gaps is now able to get some chances. His goal came from being left free in a central left position due to our pressure down the right. I said some time ago that I would judge him as a striker when I saw him play there. He is far superior to Saganowski at the moment and his unpredictability is much more effective there than in the middle or on the wing. As long as he continues to score I wouldn't consider bringing anybody else in alongside Lambert but we need Holmes wide left or the chances will die out again as our right side will be blocked off as soon as teams see how we set up.
  2. Got it in one;)
  3. David Luker in his email to me confirmed that the club have no plans to force any season ticket holder to move from their existing seat and they can buy tickets for friends.
  4. I personally think the club have a problem with the back of block 4. They have already closed the back four rows off in block4 and 5. There is a standing problem plus people who have bought tickets in block5/6 are moving over to block 4 and occupying spare seats and from reading on here reserved seats. Season ticket holders usually occupy their own seat, so restricting Block4/5 to season tickets only solves this problem. They probably have included block 5 to stop the problem just migrating across.
  5. I have contacted David Luker and he is awaiting clarification. In the interim the ticket office have been instructed to sell additional tickets in ajacent empty seats to season ticket holders in Blocks 4/5.
  6. I have asked David Luker the situation and he is getting clarification which I am awaiting. In the interim, the ticket office have been instructed that season ticket holders in Blocks 4/5 can buy additional tickets for ajacent empty seats.
  7. Doesn't say season ticket holders, I'll email David Luker and check.
  8. Thanks Ron look forward to it. Are you going on Sat 24th MK Dons?
  9. I may be wrong but I don't think David Luker or the club management are entirely daft. I suspect they didn't expect this to be taken literally. I would be absolutely surprised if their intention is other than to allow the season ticket holders only to buy accompanied tickets on an ad hoc basis. Furthermore any JPT games would have to be treated that way. I can't see them wanting to turn down that business as there is unlikely to be many more season tickets sold this season.
  10. Hi Duncan, it was a lot of fun down route. Are you coming on Mon 19th, Ron put the right day but wrong date on the email?
  11. The result was brilliant. We now have to take that forward and improve further. The reason we were better was Waigo causing a threat wide right and the interplay putting in crosses. This didn't happen in the previous nine games so we struggled to score. We are still lop sided, Lallana scored his 2 goals from the classic blindside position coming in off the left. We still don't create down the left, and lack width there which exposes Harding. Gillingham didn't expose it but BR did. Unless we build a balanced team we will be worked out and our right side blocked off and breaks mounted down the vulnerable left. We are still not brave enough and are stll trying to be narrow except for Waigo. Lallana looks a different player with the freedom to play off Lambert and is benefiting from the width on the right which is creating gaps in the opposing back four.
  12. I would have thought a sensible professional golfer playing on minor tours would be a bit more circumspect. How do you get onto the money trail? Q school-2 qualifiers plus a 6 day grind only if cut is made, Challenge tour, is it top 15? Can you qualify by winning 2 challenge tour events?. Nobody will get rich on the Challenge tour. I believe one is talking of a couple of thousand a week just to play on the European tour and no money if the cut isn't made. Unless you win or have a high enough ranking a lot of tournaments won't be available. Ambition is one thing but what you are talking about is not a given. A friend of mine who was a top international junior has been to the Q school twice, is currently ranked highly in the southern region in the top 500 in the world and is winning quite a few tournaments but doesn't think his game is good enough this year to go to Q school again. You are talking about a possible possibility, nothing in golf is definite even your swing.
  13. For the few minutes he was on yesterday he was up and back. He certainly offers more there than any one else.
  14. Lallana hasn't trained since Tuesday due to bruised ribs.
  15. Waigo provided the width on the right all four goals were created because we were able to spread the defenders and make room. Mellis had a good spell for about 15 mins before half time, Wotton was solid but it would be nice to see how much better we could be if Holmes was wide left. Lallana took his goals well and looks like he could play off Lambert. Our left side is still a worry but the right side more than made up for it.
  16. This may well be the club trying to move the noisy, standing block 4 fans away from the corporate boxes.
  17. Season ticket holders don't have to move from blocks 4/5 but can for free if they wish. It is only season tickets in block 4/5 from now on. It looks like all existing season tickets in the Northam stay where they are unless they request a move and all tickets bought will be sold in block 39 first then block by block until the whole Northam is sold. So what happens if season ticket holders in blocks 4/5 want to buy additional tickets for friends etc in vacant seats next to them. I'd be surprised if they can't as the seats would otherwise be empty.
  18. Your public school obviously didn't teach good manners. I presume arrogance was an option you took. If you care to consult the Oxford dictionary you will find that swop is a variation of swap.
  19. If you really want to carry this on why don't you just swop email addresses.
  20. We are very much work in progress, many of the players here at the moment and maybe the management (unless they match the owners expectations) won't be around next season. Unless some of the sacred cow's deliver they will be ex players in a years time. I am not convinced by the shape of the team which is the main reason for the poor results. Whatever the ability of the players the shape can be played and there is little evidence that the management are sorting that problem. Pardew seems to be under the illusion that numbers at the back make for security. Defending free kicks and corners with 11 back just invites pressure. Against BR Harding plus Mills were ripped apart whilst the other side coped pretty well despite James lack of pace because we had a wide right midfield player. Mellis/Mills didn't play wide left which allowed the space for us to be attacked incessantly down our left. Whilst the quick strikers made for our goal. Pardew talked about locking down the left side by two full backs neither tight marking the problem and their right back unfettered supporting the winger. We needed Holmes wide left to occupy the right back and be an outlet, that in itself would have forced Williams to track back and Harding to push up in support, denying BR space. The remainder of the back four shuttling across and central midfielders tracking back would have locked down the left side. This would have compacted the defence and stopped the quick runners catching us flat on the break.
  21. The Vokes to Coventry loan has stalled as they can't come to an agreement on the length of the loan period.
  22. No, he's on loan from Charlton.
  23. Pardew needs to start making the right decisions, playing a proper team with width, stop making crass substitutions. Instead telling us how bad we were, how we had no width. Talking about it in retrospect we all do, he is paid well to identify and sort the problems. Negativity undermines and we have far too much of it in the make up of the team and the way we play.
  24. Thomas at right back and you have a half decent team.
