I have noticed the change Mike but I'm not sure I'd agree about the lights as I've never queried their power up to now. I remember the original lights at the Dell which I think hosted the first floodlit or first competitive floodlit match in the country and the at least two newer improved systems which I don't remember being anything like as good as these. I haven't been to any of the new top grounds but they don't seem much different looking at the tv picture. I'll pay more attention now you've mentioned it next time they are on in the dark.

Compact, fit, quickish, scraps for the ball, showed touches but has no idea how to be effective. You may be right.

Another one that hasn't a clue about positional play. He didn't know when to drop off, make angles or go for the byeline, he was wide for about 15 mins when we had our best spell, then was sucked inside. He had no idea about holding off on the blindside, the worst thing about him was hitting crosses without looking. He certainly didn't give us the width we need and having to move Waigo to a position that neutered him so that he could be accommodated was rediculous, especially so, as it was crying out for Holmes to be given a game on our left. Needs a lot of work and there is no evidence we have anybody to teach him.

I don't think it is David Luker's decision as he has instructed the ticket office to sell additional tickets to season ticket holders while he gets the issue clarified. I suspect with the exception of some in block 4 there is certainly a great deal of support from those in block 5 for the season ticket only concept. David Luker has already stated that the club have no plans to coerce existing season ticket holders to move. In addition the access from the main concourse at turnstile A preclude the away fans from that area. I would be amazed if the directors and corporates would want the away supporters blasting them from blocks 1-6. If anything it would be the opposite, they want them as far away as possible.

The club doesn't want a Northam/Itchen North atmosphere in the Itchen, it must be pretty obvious by now that the club don't want standing, swearing chants at opposition supporters, confrontational atitudes, they have decided to clear all but season ticket holders out of the Itchen. That means any behaviour that the club deems unacceptable, which the stewards are finding difficulty controlling, can easily be dealt with, identifying the seat holder and cancelling the season ticket. The demand for the season ticket to be examined by stewards would be the outcome, and if ejection carried out, quite likely that the season ticket would be confiscated at the best cancelled. This is purely my opinion based on the difficulties to date expressed about block 4

Lallana in every position up to now has been a liability, playing off Lambert is giving him a new lease of life. His unpredictability and close control, twisting and turning in the penalty area is now an asset, as opposed to the same thing in midfield being a liability. Holmes or better still a new quick wide left midfielder is a necessary requirement, as we will only be able to get away attacking down one side for a very limited period, because we will quickly be worked out by the opposition and countered. For that reason we have to introduce the alternative balance of penetration down the left. When we do that we can look forward to beating the best sides and creating loads of opportunities for your hero to shine. Just as important is the fact the wide players actually protect our fullbacks. We look wide open down our left because of the space whilst the right is pretty compact because we are occupying the space..
-
It was a complement because unpredictability is an asset in certain areas such as the opposing penalty area. One of his goals when he turned the defenders to finish in the opposite corner was brilliant. Lallana is not playing wide left, he sometimes rather belatedly gets wide but more often than not he is in the old inside left position. We will need to create down both sides, at the moment the left is dormant, whilst the right is effective, if we can get a wide left player opening things up then it will open more space for Lambert, Lallana and Waigo and give the midfielders more scope on passing and getting forward. If we only create from one side, that will soon get blocked off by opponents as we get worked out and the chances will dry up again. I question the need for a sitting midfield player, Wide men supporting the fullback in defence with midfielders getting up and down may result in a few more goals conceded but will more than pay it's way with goals scored, and be a lot better to watch.

Broke both bones in my right leg in 1966 when we were promoted to first division, pinned and bandaged not plastered so pretty unstable. On crutches, drove my mothers automatic to Leyton and Plymouth using left foot on brake and bad foot on accelerator. Stood in the terracing at Leyton but sat on the touchline at Plymouth.

Or more season tickets in the Itchen.
-
Nick it can't happen that way because they won't let the away fans have blocks 1-6 as they would come in at the front of the stadium through concourse A, that would mean right up to the Directors box on the north Itchen. Obviously they couldn't mix the fans through concourse A. I think they have identified match day ticket holders as their problem in Block 4 and are moving the problem to 36/39. The fact that they are willing to let season ticket holders buy extra tickets for me is pretty conclusive.

He was a liability and underperformed for a year. Even his management didn't know where to play him. His present form is down to two things, Waigo wide with pace opening up the opposing back four and a now fit Lambert bringing him into the game. Other than that he is still playing narrow but because of the gaps is now able to get some chances. His goal came from being left free in a central left position due to our pressure down the right. I said some time ago that I would judge him as a striker when I saw him play there. He is far superior to Saganowski at the moment and his unpredictability is much more effective there than in the middle or on the wing. As long as he continues to score I wouldn't consider bringing anybody else in alongside Lambert but we need Holmes wide left or the chances will die out again as our right side will be blocked off as soon as teams see how we set up.

Got it in one;)

David Luker in his email to me confirmed that the club have no plans to force any season ticket holder to move from their existing seat and they can buy tickets for friends.
-
I personally think the club have a problem with the back of block 4. They have already closed the back four rows off in block4 and 5. There is a standing problem plus people who have bought tickets in block5/6 are moving over to block 4 and occupying spare seats and from reading on here reserved seats. Season ticket holders usually occupy their own seat, so restricting Block4/5 to season tickets only solves this problem. They probably have included block 5 to stop the problem just migrating across.

I have contacted David Luker and he is awaiting clarification. In the interim the ticket office have been instructed to sell additional tickets in ajacent empty seats to season ticket holders in Blocks 4/5.

I have asked David Luker the situation and he is getting clarification which I am awaiting. In the interim, the ticket office have been instructed that season ticket holders in Blocks 4/5 can buy additional tickets for ajacent empty seats.

Doesn't say season ticket holders, I'll email David Luker and check.

Thanks Ron.

Thanks Ron look forward to it. Are you going on Sat 24th MK Dons?
-
I may be wrong but I don't think David Luker or the club management are entirely daft. I suspect they didn't expect this to be taken literally. I would be absolutely surprised if their intention is other than to allow the season ticket holders only to buy accompanied tickets on an ad hoc basis. Furthermore any JPT games would have to be treated that way. I can't see them wanting to turn down that business as there is unlikely to be many more season tickets sold this season.

Hi Duncan, it was a lot of fun down route. Are you coming on Mon 19th, Ron put the right day but wrong date on the email?

The result was brilliant. We now have to take that forward and improve further. The reason we were better was Waigo causing a threat wide right and the interplay putting in crosses. This didn't happen in the previous nine games so we struggled to score. We are still lop sided, Lallana scored his 2 goals from the classic blindside position coming in off the left. We still don't create down the left, and lack width there which exposes Harding. Gillingham didn't expose it but BR did. Unless we build a balanced team we will be worked out and our right side blocked off and breaks mounted down the vulnerable left. We are still not brave enough and are stll trying to be narrow except for Waigo. Lallana looks a different player with the freedom to play off Lambert and is benefiting from the width on the right which is creating gaps in the opposing back four.

I would have thought a sensible professional golfer playing on minor tours would be a bit more circumspect. How do you get onto the money trail? Q school-2 qualifiers plus a 6 day grind only if cut is made, Challenge tour, is it top 15? Can you qualify by winning 2 challenge tour events?. Nobody will get rich on the Challenge tour. I believe one is talking of a couple of thousand a week just to play on the European tour and no money if the cut isn't made. Unless you win or have a high enough ranking a lot of tournaments won't be available. Ambition is one thing but what you are talking about is not a given. A friend of mine who was a top international junior has been to the Q school twice, is currently ranked highly in the southern region in the top 500 in the world and is winning quite a few tournaments but doesn't think his game is good enough this year to go to Q school again. You are talking about a possible possibility, nothing in golf is definite even your swing.

For the few minutes he was on yesterday he was up and back. He certainly offers more there than any one else.

Lallana hasn't trained since Tuesday due to bruised ribs.
