  1. I think you are now making a good job of taking the ****, about time somebody did.
  2. So the dross we had last season, was the slow, underperforming, non running, unmotivated, poor passing, bad defending, non scoring, experienced players making the right decisions. The team don't seem to be making many errors at all.
  3. 15 stone then!
  4. I didn't want to see Lowe back. I haven't supported Southampton since 1954 to want to see anything but the football. I can't really see any other reason to be a supporter. In the 54 years, the directors took a back seat until the arrival of Lowe. I don't subscribe to the way he became the story. Football is the be all and end all of the football club. In recent years the football has been trash, the young team is now playing the kind of football only the likes of Arsenal played and I drooled over. There is no way I am going to miss one minute of the entertainment we have enjoyed. Everybody has a free choice, I have made mine, I would be miserable sitting listening to games and wishing I was there. Principles are great but when it is the dislike of one man against supporting the team I really can't see that as a matter of principle. It rather appears to me, more of being backed into a corner.
  5. What has liking or not liking Rupert Lowe to do with being realistic or not?

Daren, I can understand the hurt and anger that you feel. You write interesting stuff, not all I agree with. The club should have responded to your request, you are quite right in your criticism. You really shouldn't let that idiot get you down, his post is beneath contempt.

You really are scraping the bottom of the barrel with this post. Your heartless comments, do you no favours. As far as I can anticipate any future comments you make on any subject will probably be treated with contempt because of this silly post.
  8. Gillett reminds me a bit of a young Billy Bremner.
  9. Tim if it's any help, it's Sky not Setanta over here. Setanta don't do Football League.
  10. Me too!

And most of the £3.5m fee going to him to pay off his Sunderland contract.

I pay my money, I watch the football, I go home. I couldn't care less who runs the club as it doesn't affect me. Last two years, especially last year, I watched some unadulterated crap, but this year it is brilliantly enjoyable. Never mind the results, for me the football is the thing. A rollercoaster, possibly, all those that go obviously enjoy it. A month ago, a few of us were saying how good the football was, now many more are seeing it. The longer it goes on the more people will go and enjoy it. Jan Portvliet and Mark Wotte are probably the first management brought in by Lowe, that he is comfortable with and actually in the long term wanted at the club, rather than to fill a vacancy, or try and solve a problem.
  13. And If Saints are with it, what happened to Cranie and Mills, is a good example of what they don't want to do.

    Romain Gasmi

As he did it on Aug 9th, just over three weks to full training.
  15. Bloody unorthodox, what rubbish, it's the football mainly played by English teams below the top 4 in the Premier that is unorthodox. The rest of the world with the probable exception of Italy play this way. For example the best is Brazil.
  16. Sure, but John doesn't look first choice to me anymore.

Yes, you are right, I think it's closed for a week, then opened for loans.
  18. John didn't start at Derby, he played less than 10 mins, it was Jamie White being saved to start on Saturday.
  19. He was left out last night for a rest, but as soon as he heard, he insisted he wanted to play and was put back in.

I don't think there is much of a boycott, with just a few making the sacrifice. Money is difficult for some at this present time, together with the worry of maintaining employment. The far greater number, are probably those who gave up last season, with the no hope dross we had to watch. Hopefully the next two televised games will give them food for thought and rekindle their appetite.
  21. a) we will have played 26 league games. b) the young players who have been playing great football, in an exciting team, would be out of their minds, to go somewhere else to play in the reserves, or go on loan, when some of them have been waiting ages to get first team football. c) I have no intention of anticipating what will/will not happen over 4 months from now. d) The young loan players if they are successful and enjoying their football, will IMO want to continue, rather than go back to the reserves, or go somewhere else on loan.,
  22. Welcome back Frank. I was with Ron last night, he mentioned he hadn't heard from you of late. We were absolutely delighted with the football. At the end Birmingham couldn't get the ball and the crowd were olaying as we pinged the ball around. That without 6 of the regular team at that time. Birmingham just looked shellshocked. It looks like we have learned very quickly to pace the game and not try and do too much too quickly. This team knows how to bully and put the foot in, they are like a swarm of wasps when they lose the ball and most of the time seem to get it back quickly.
  23. Come now! the pessimists handed out some real sarcastic tripe, hardly one of them had seen the team and some of them were a thousand miles from SMS but still gave these opinions. The people who had been to the games were in the main very optimistic, but that didn't stop them. Since Saturday they have gone AWOL, they probably won't be back on this subject until we lose again. I hope that's a long time. I still think it's going to be a rollercoaster, but after seeing 5 matches I'm enjoying the ride.

Weston has the right idea, the way the club are going about their business, indicates to me, that they don't see a takeover happening.
  25. Borrowed money! we'd be bloody mad. Give JP the money if there is any. Blackpool on TV, given a good performance it could lead to people coming back.
