The oddest thing for me is that just over a year ago Saints were in the third division. Incredible what has been achieved. Won something in each of the last three years. It's good to be a Saints fan right now. I just hope we do ourselves justice next year..I think we will. Whatever happens though, the last three years have been memorable.

Saints v Anderlecht Eoropean Cup winners cup 1976
Graffito replied to CLOTH EARS's topic in The Saints
You lot have good memories. I was at the home tie under the East stand. That's it. Can't remember bugger all else, even with the assistance of YouTube. Alzheimer's, in many ways the forgotten illness. -
Who invited that twa@t.

South-coast pendulum swings Southampton's way
Graffito replied to doddisalegend's topic in The Saints
The reality is that nobody cares except us....and HMRC ...and the creditors....and the 60% of clubs that have gone into admin....on second thoughts, crap article. -
Cardiff to win tonight and get a draw at Upton Park.

South-coast pendulum swings Southampton's way
Graffito replied to doddisalegend's topic in The Saints
"Ultimately, both these south coast clubs have enjoyed similar highs at different times in their recent history. The difference, perhaps, is that when they were rocked to their foundations, Southampton's building blocks proved sturdier." By implication the fans. -
Annoying my wife and daughters to the point where they're pleased to see the season start again in August.
-
I don't see them as a status symbol. They're a bloody nuisance.
-
Middlesbrough's a good shout but now we've been promoted I can say I enjoyed the 2-2 derby match. I'll miss the Skates when they're gone...kind of.
-
That match was the only occasion in 40 years of supporting Saints that I have left before the final whistle being so disappointed with the team's response to a new manager. In retrospect unreasonable expectations on my behalf perhaps. It didn't take Nigel Adkins long to instil some confidence and belief. It's telling that so many of the players that night were in Saturday's squad and it's testament to the fine job Nigel Adkins has done.

The what are you wearing to the Coventry game thread
Graffito replied to This Charming Man's topic in The Saints
A Saints replica shirt, a pair of "Get into 'em **** 'em up" Doc Marten's and denim trousers, as worn by Doug Summers the famous Wyoming cowboy. -
When you climb a ladder and don't want to lose your nerve you look up not down. Think positive. We're not going into the play offs.
-
Yes we've missed him. Linked well with Lallana, Lambert and Guly.
-
Please don't bet against Saints. It's just plain wrong.
-
Remember the first game of the season, a sunny Saturday in August, when we announced our intentions to the Championship and to the viewers in emphatic style with a joyous 3-1 victory over Leeds. As someone pointed out on another thread, it would be perfect symmetry to sign off with a 3-1, again on tv, this time against Coventry, in the final game of the season.
-
Thoroughly looking forward to Saturday. It will be a great day.
-
Has to be Southampton's Goal Machine. At this stage in his career he must want promotion so badly. Think he'll score two. Second will be a pen. Sharp will get the other.
-
Lambert.
-
Rumour has it they're all ******s. What should we expect on Saturday?
-
Just seen the goals. Some poor defending by both sides. Leicester could have had a penalty at the very end. Although the Leicester forward headed the ball straight at Green he was kicked in the back of the head by a Kung Fu kick by one of the West Ham defenders. Normal head height too.
-
It's the odd kick off times which seem to have a detrimental affect on Saints rather than being on tv.
-
Agree with Adkins 100%. I just hope he plays him this Saturday. Perversely I think the timing of this praise from Adkins may mean an unchanged team on Saturday with Morgan perhaps on the bench.

If you're staying in Hartlepool try a walk along the beach at Seaton Carew. Freeze your nuts off.

He is right as far as results go from the 7th game of the season but the fact that the season doesn't start at game seven makes his comment a bit meaningless. If the criterion is quality of football, I prefer to see football the way Saints generally play it.
