  1. Remember the first game of the season, a sunny Saturday in August, when we announced our intentions to the Championship and to the viewers in emphatic style with a joyous 3-1 victory over Leeds. As someone pointed out on another thread, it would be perfect symmetry to sign off with a 3-1, again on tv, this time against Coventry, in the final game of the season.
  2. Thoroughly looking forward to Saturday. It will be a great day.
  3. Has to be Southampton's Goal Machine. At this stage in his career he must want promotion so badly. Think he'll score two. Second will be a pen. Sharp will get the other.
  4. Rumour has it they're all ******s. What should we expect on Saturday?
  5. Just seen the goals. Some poor defending by both sides. Leicester could have had a penalty at the very end. Although the Leicester forward headed the ball straight at Green he was kicked in the back of the head by a Kung Fu kick by one of the West Ham defenders. Normal head height too.
  6. It's the odd kick off times which seem to have a detrimental affect on Saints rather than being on tv.
  7. Agree with Adkins 100%. I just hope he plays him this Saturday. Perversely I think the timing of this praise from Adkins may mean an unchanged team on Saturday with Morgan perhaps on the bench.
  8. If you're staying in Hartlepool try a walk along the beach at Seaton Carew. Freeze your nuts off.
  9. He is right as far as results go from the 7th game of the season but the fact that the season doesn't start at game seven makes his comment a bit meaningless. If the criterion is quality of football, I prefer to see football the way Saints generally play it.
  10. Thoroughly professional performance. been said. That's it and I'm too. thank you andf good night.
  11. Arsenal should him play him inside right, or he just comes in 10yds off the line, same difference Or play him up front in the middle. Been telling that for ages to arsenal fans who don't rate him. But they won't because of Van Persie. Could apply to de ridder too.
  12. I've seen De Ridder play many times and in my opinion there are two problems: 1. How we play him. Hit him early to use his blistering pace or don't bother because he'll slow things up and end up going backwards or crossing into a congested box (your point). This isn't De Ridder's fault. It's a little like the way Arsenal and England sometimes waste Walcott's pace. By the time the ball gets to him he is boxed in on the halfway line and facing his own goal. Easy to defend against. Having said that there are wingers that can pick out an attacker as mentioned above. 2. De Ridder's delivery. He actually had one of his better games on Friday but I can recall only one good cross. But it's not just Friday on which I base my opinion. In all the games I've seen him play I've seen a handful of decent crosses. One final comment. I did not say De Ridder is rubbish. That was your word. If I thought he was rubbish I wouldn't bother to debate his merits.
  13. Brighton should be investigated for crimes against football.
  14. Agree. Beckham's another good example of no pace but excellent delivery
  15. Seriously? Kebe did.
  16. It's a wig...obviously.
  17. lol.
  18. The literary reference suggests a journalist. The Disney connection with polyanna suggests a third rate local journalist.
  19. Terry Curran.
  20. Nearly all of them to the opposition.
  21. Yes. Fox should concentrate on defending crosses rather than making ambitious cross field passes. I actually rate Fox and think he's our best full back. I reckon he will have taken those mistakes to heart and hope he gets the chance to make amends at Peterborough.
  22. " so are you wanting these games because you want to see Saints or Man U and Liverpool?" You can. Watch Saints in whatever league and get a Sky subscription. I'm only interested in one of those.
  23. In which case you don't need De Ridder who is a conventional winger whose pace is therefore wasted. We also have another forward, Sharp. What's to stop a conventional cross from the byeline into the six yard box to Sharp. he scored just such a headed goal against Doncaster.
