Yep and we all know what that means with his record. Sheer malice.
-
Lambert was deadly with free kicks last season. From how many free kicks has he scored directly this season? Can't remember the last one he got. Feels like we're due one on Friday.

http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/po...hate-1-3715779 The article's a load of rubbish but I do wish our club would rise above this kind of nonsense and leave it to us fans who are perfectly capable of insulting the witless ****s.

I thought the atmosphere was great. Plenty of noise and everyone standing. Nigel Adkins and the players seemed to appreciate.
-
I agree. Being booed by you own fans, the fans he said made him feel settled after he signed, hardly breeds confidence.
-
I prefer facts to opinions. A case in point, judging by your posts I would have had you down as about 15 years old. Now I know you are a grown man with the maturity of a child.
-
There are some stats on the FL website. Same number of league goals as Lallana, similar number of assists, similar number of shots. He figures reasonably highly in the Actim rankings. But I suspect facts don't make a jot of difference to those that have closed their minds to Guly.
-
With respect dell days it appears that it is you that is going round in circles. Yesterday you wanted Guly out of the club. Today you think he should be rested. Make your mind up.
-
It's bitterly disappointing to lose any points to them but the derby's done now. No more distractions. I like how Adkins is relentlessly positive. Contrast with say Fat Sam. Look at where we stand with 5 games to go. What's not to like?
-
Of course he does. I recognise that. Just making a point about the absurd comment that the Manager that may get us back to back promotions should be sacked.
-
Absolutely right. I said similar last night on the match thread. In the cold light of morning they will surely realise that yesterday they were celebrating failure whereas we're back on top and in the driving seat.
-
At the game it looked like Schneiderlin hurt himself in the tackle. Having seen the highlights it looked like the Skate stamped on his knee.
-
Nothing wrong with our support. Stop whining and join the rest of us in getting behind the lads at Palace on Monday.

On the balance of play and chances created we deserved to win. We didn't win because having gone 2-1 up so late in the game all we had to do was keep possession, something we can do well, instead of which we presented them with the opportunity to score from let's face it, what was a good strike. As good a strike as it was, without the ball they don't get the opportunity. I thought throughout the match Saints were far too hasty and rushed in their play, by-passing midfield and not getting the creative players on the ball nearly enough in the right positions. At the end of the day they can have their little bit of pant wetting excitement because a point is of more use to us than to them. No derby distractions from now on and all eyes on the prize.
-
Not knocking you at all but it's interesting as I've seen people do this but personally I would never bet on an outcome I didn't want.

Agree that quality signings from the lower leagues in key areas is the way to go, especially when relegation is a possibility. We have pace out wide already but De Ridder hasn't been able to deliver crosses consistently so Zaha or Phillips would be a great addition. I think Fox and Richardson are both good Championship full backs but should we continue to rely on full backs providing assists then a signing or two there would be required. I'd add a centre back. Upson was never England quality so probably a realistic target for Saints, subject to wages.

There was an analysis of PL penalties this season in the Sunday Times this week which showed that penalty takers have a higher success rate when they hit the ball high into the net. I found this a little surprising but the stats were clear. Billy Sharp's penalty was a good height for the keeper.
-
Thoroughly enjoyed that despite the patronising interviewer.
-
Can they just have played him? He had a reasonable scoring record in a fairly poor team. I don't know enough about how Doncaster and S****horpe played him.
-
Thanks. Those comments don't describe the player we're seeing yet. Perhaps he's inhibited by weight of expectation. It does strange things to people. Look at west ham at home.
-
As a couple of others have said, it looks like his confidence is fragile. Stating the bleeding obvious but it's a team game and it was the team that lost yesterday not billy sharp. One further thought, anyone know how Doncaster played him? I remember seeing Coppinger make a few of his goals from the wing but that's the extent of my knowledge.
-
The pitch was poor and might have hindered our ability to move the ball quickly but it wasn't the reason why we lost the match. Players of superior technical ability ought to be able to adapt.
-
No. It was because we didn't move the ball quickly enough and that was partly because Blackpool closed down so fast. Lots of possession but mostly in our half. We have struggled all season against teams that close us down.
