  1. I didn't go but I believe Ralph may have been there.
  2. “One of the big things was to stop the investments from Katharina,” Krueger says. “When she sees 30,000 people having pleasure watching the team perform it makes her happy in the memory of why her father [Markus] invested in the first place. "You can see her father is alive in this building for her. The club is not for sale.” Positive. She has an emotional attachment to the club. So do I. Stability.
  3. Weight of expectation which is off the scale compared with what he's experienced before. It does strange things to people. It would have been better for Lambert if Liverpool had signed a Suarez replacement and he could have eased himself into contention without the same pressure.
  4. The blogs are very informative. Thank you for posting the link.
  5. I bet that was too good to resist. I'd have done the same.
  6. That's just plain silly. Don't even know why I'm bothering to rep
  7. I'm staggered and not a little impressed (even) at the knowledge some posters have of other teams players. I mean, I saw Villa a bit on MoTD and home and away live in the league against Saints, and was quite impressed with Betrand, but apparently he was actually crap at Villa. What do I know. Perhaps I should trade the ST for a Sky bundle and get some proper opinions.
  8. You get the picture though.
  9. Quality not price. What's your assessment?
  10. It's a strange one but yes even Heineken barrels. Thanks for insights to Dutch football by the way.
  11. Couldn't care less what the OS does. Ours like all the others are propaganda.
  12. Agree. It's about quality rather than price.
  13. Fair chance he hit the Pernod last night and didn't make it.
  14. PL experience as well, unlike other signings and several that are linked.
  15. Didn't see much of Bertrand last season but I recall being quite impressed with his performance against us in the draw at Villa Park last season. Clyne didn't get forward much at all as I remember. He's no Shaw but I'm happy to give him a chance. Only right and proper if he's on our side.
  16. No. It's reminiscent of old Odemwinky who jumped the gun and drove down to Loftus Rd but the transfer never happened.
  17. It seems the Board thinks we are truffles. Getting more confused by the minute.
  18. If he puts in a transfer request will the Board turn it down?
  19. Is it a phone in?
  20. Someone who couldn't afford to buy a club in the top 8 with all it's star players in place. Managing relegation is a difficult one but those clubs going down are in a far stronger position than ever to come back the following season. Saints could be viewed as a value buy. For instance, you don't want to buy growth stocks at the top of the market or at the glass ceiling in Saints case.
  21. And the lack of interest in the Europa League.
  22. Yet higher investment would be the bigger risk but I think the club's ambition has to be a little more than survival. The academy is a big investment.
  23. Bit high risk though isn't it?
  24. You can make money by buying low and selling high. Championships clubs can be a good calculated bet. League 1 clubs of Saints calibre even better. Ein Schnäppchen as ML referred to his purchase of Saints. Of course you need some further investment, good coaches and acquisitions, a Cortese and luck but Saints prove it's feasible. The only surprise to me is why KL hasn't sold because the further investment and risk associated with breaking into the top 4 would be prohibitive to any but the oil rich and the like so why stick around?
  25. It is a good league but parachute payments have gone up massively so Sky is infecting the Championship as well.
