  1. In addition to which, Lallana has an England place to play for.
  2. It's not all about Lallana, it's about what is best for Southampton Football Club.
  3. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2642738/Victor-Wanyama-wants-join-Mauricio-Pochettino-Tottenham-Erik-Lamela-Transfer-Column.html This one's good for a laugh.
  4. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/11242017._/? Where's Jeremy Paxman when you need him.
  5. This makes a case for Moyes. As the article says, wind back the clock 12 months and what would Saints fans think if Moyes were available. Does he have sufficient status to convince some of teh senior players to stay? I think probably yes. Man Utd did happen of course so that can't be erased but the main question mark would be whether his style could fit with Saints'. This would be my main concern, that our style would change. But let's be realistic. We're a mid table, middle of the road premiership club with an inexperienced board and the potential for better players to up sticks. Stability is required. Moyes would provide it. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/southampton/10860028/David-Moyes-should-really-be-the-only-candidate-to-replace-Mauricio-Pochettino-as-Southampton-manager.html
  6. Yes this is quite funny. They're going to end up being Arsenal Light.
  7. The manager will be 100% focused on the World Cup.
  8. Somewhat negative and pessimistic but makes some good points. http://www.basingstokegazette.co.uk/sport/11239113._/?
  9. You have to question why he brought him into the squad at such a late stage, having ignored him up to then, and more so now, having brought him in and not given him any game time. What was the point of that?

  11. Like this from MLT: “We can look back now and see he was stalling and keeping his options open, but that’s his prerogative. “He clearly had a game plan that he had set out, worked it to the best of his ability, and got a new job and a pay rise to boot, so good luck to him – as long as he doesn’t start whinging in a year’s time if he’s finished outside the top four and been sacked.”
  12. It's good for a few thrupenny bits.
  13. Levy's dithering. Good at sacking them but can't pick them.
  14. You'll find one or two reasons here. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/26847888
  15. Are Spurs dithering?
  16. On bbc radio 5 just now. Dodd and Williams didn't get on with hunter. Les Read backed Hunter. Therefore suggestion that they were sacked for relationship reasons.
  17. Actually I did understand your point, I just disagree with it.
  18. Pochettino's a young coach not an old dinosaur. You are not comparing like with like.
  19. I can't agree with much of this. Pochettino is a quality coach who has improved the players as individuals and as a team. I would have thought that fairly obvious to anyone that watches Saints regularly. Likewise there is much quality within the first team. If that isn't obvious then explain why else so many are so regularly linked with top clubs.
  20. "As Uefa debits their Champions League money this summer, it is worth remembering what City’s new owners paid for. Yes, Sergio Aguero, David Silva, Yaya Touré et al. But also the clout to keep the young players they produced, which unfortunately is not a benefit that every club with a good academy can rely upon." It may give City the clout to keep the young players it produces but how many will get a run City's first team?
  21. Salt of the earth person who does it because he loves it. The kind whom football, with all it's hangers on, prima donnas and parasites, couldn't do without.
  22. He scored another brilliant solo fluke away to QPR if I remember correctly.
  23. Agreed though it's more relief than humility.
  24. Arsenal. Blase in 2003. Ecstatic in 2014.
