To be fair, a significant part of our current troubles can be traced back to the stink VvD created when we pushed back at Liverpool. When teams have cheated and convinced a player to turn against his own team, you're ****ed whichever way you decide to go. RBL's recruitment with Hasenhüttl and Paul Mitchell has mirrored ours to a certain extent when we were digging out gems seemingly at will. If we can start doing something like that again, I think we'd all enjoy that.

So, safely sacked while Harry Redknapp is on the other side of the world with no contact with the outside world? Hughes did a fantastic job of changing our mentality last season, and I've got no doubt we'd have gone down if he hadn't come in. I do think we've played a lot better than our results indicate this season, and there's been a hefty dose of bad luck in them, not least in the quality of refereeing we've had, but ultimately on paper our results have been terrible. Never any guarantees with a new manager of course, but our (expected) hiring of Hasenhüttl sounds interesting, especially if we can dig out a gem or two in January.

To be fair he scored a goal that should never have been disallowed.

Not mine, but it’s here for the moment at least. Looks like the FA are trying to suppress it. Idiots obviously haven’t heard of the Streisand effect.

Two teams playing absolutely ****, outdone only by the monumentally incompetent officials. Austin no doubt has a fine and a ban heading his way, even with everything he’s saying being spot on. Probably worth it nonetheless just to shine a bit of a light on it. At least when we eventually do turn it around and start improving again it’ll look bloody amazing in comparison.

That **** of a ref was looking to even it up from the moment he gave us a penalty. McCarthy's booking for moving the ball (quickly!) after the Brighton player had placed it where he wanted it showed the ref's head had completely gone.

Yeah, seems to me that he's a relatively easy threat to nullify, in that he can be tracked and isn't able to impose himself if the other team is paying attention, but doing that actually costs quite a lot for the other team in terms of what they have to commit to do that.

So, never in doubt right?

Well. That counts as my cardio workout for at least the next week or so.
-
It's even worse than that, you can see he shifts slightly to make sure he catches him with the follow through. Utterly disgusting.
-
Certainly didn't seem like we played badly today. Felt we had the better chances but it just didn't run for us. Pickford staying on the pitch after that was ****ing ridiculous.

Reckon the Black Box was probably responsible for Elyounoussi to be fair.

If it's a loan with an obligation to buy as suggested, I reckon it's probably so the fee goes onto next season's bill for FFP reasons. Imagine we'll hope to ship out Forster and Carrillo by then for signings next season.

Signs point to yes. Unless the fax machine broke down at the worst possible moment.

Moved the non-deadline day stuff out, please try to stay somewhere in the general area of the topic.

Whatever momentum we might have lost against Belgium, that is one hell of a curse we've just broken. The belief in the England team will be immense after that.
