I was more angling that the only reason Chelsea would refuse to loan us players would be if they saw us as a threat. In any case, as good as loaning players from Chelsea has been for us, with the new restrictions coming in on outgoing loans from the end of next season, it's not a route we should rely on for players, regardless of Chelsea's attitude towards us. EDIT: Doesn't apply to domestic loans.

Chelsea will send us players on loan if they think it'll be good for the player's development, which would obviously seem to be the case for Broja. If they're that worried that Saints are going to turn the players head enough to lose them, and as a result refuse to loan a player to us, that probably means we're doing something right.

Chelsea are already going to refuse to sell us anyone they don't want to.

Broja is here because we wanted him here, and because Chelsea wanted him here for this loan. The suggestion that a few comments to the media that he's enjoying it here and might want to stay longer, that they could lead to sanctions such as cancelling the loan, or lead to Chelsea stopping dealing with us... well that sounds pretty ridiculous to me.

What we should do in terms of the club's relationship with Chelsea is one thing, but that has no bearing on the fact that there's zero chance we can be sanctioned for tapping up while the player is contracted to us.

Tapping up doesn’t really apply in this case, he’s on loan to us and in effect we currently hold his registration, so there’s no unauthorised contact between club and player.

Sort of, but it's not quite as simple as that. For any individual that gets infected, Omicron has proved to be less deadly than Delta. Being unvaccinated still massively increases the risk posed by Covid, but Omicron poses less of a risk to an unvaccinated person than Delta to an unvaccinated person. The USA's problem, as you've pointed out, is the lower rates of vaccination, and attitudes towards restrictions, which isn't helped by the reduced risk at an individual level posed by Omicron. They've hampered efforts to curb Covid, and that combined with the massively increased infectivity of Omicron (further increased by the lower vaccination rates) means that in the USA, across the population, Omicron is proving to be as deadly as Delta was, and unfortunately is likely to get worse before it gets better. What it does show is how important the vaccination programme is. Also that the response to Omicron here was NOT a simple decision. Considering the fatigue against restrictions, and Omicron's ability to spread despite restrictions, the massive vaccine drive and booster programme was probably the key measure that's kept Omicron under control here, so far at least.

In those numbers, no, those are based on recorded cause of death. The reason this isn’t done for the daily figures is that an official cause of death takes too long to be useful, by the time the numbers would be up to date, it’d be far too late to base any action on them. Using deaths within 28 days has proved accurate enough to guide decisions on restrictions and other measures within a timeframe that means they can make a bigger difference in saving lives.

With VAR now, you’re not relying on the lino making the correct call, so playing the offside trap is far more reliable. The free kick tactic has worked really well for us, but City’s tactic of sending runners offside while the target of the free kick runs from deeper is very repeatable, feels like that offside tactic will quickly become less effective now.
