Boy, those were the days! I can go back to World War 2 when there were guest players playing at the Dell, I saw Stanley Matthews (my hero at the time) playing there, memory doesn't permit me to remember much else, but I do rememeber being very upset when a bomb left a huge crater in the pitch. It didn't take too long for it to be filled in to allow football to be played again though.

I am surprised that Charlton is not being mentioned, they are 6 points behind Bournemouth's 53 points with 3 games in hand, so IF they win them all will have 56 points. We are 5 points behind Bournemouth with 2 games in hand so when we win them all we will have 54 points. Lets hope they don't win them all!

It seems a very good reason for staying is the expense of building! Why would we want to have a club in debt again, don't you think the cost of St Mary's was ONE of the reasons for our recent downfall? We may have a wealthy owner, but he is a businessman and will want a return on any investment.
