Fairly predictable result. After getting ourselves into a good vein of form and a chance to push into the top half, we feck it up. Saints all over. Bottom half of Division 3 it is then. Put the 5 year plan for World Domination back on hold then. Maybe we should get Roque Santa Cruz on loan from Man City. I know we can't afford the wages but there's other teams that win matches with that strategy and it seems to be accepted by the authorities.

It's all sources this and apparently that. Don't believe a word of it - probably fed to them by AA in any case just to apply a bit more pressure on the FL. DFCSB's.

Most contributors to this thread are more interested in what we're doing, me included. But that doesn't preclude hoping they are properly held to account for their crimes and cheating, and following developments on here.

Hard luck story my ass. They are playing the media like a fiddle. 40K a week for Lawrence and Kitsons wages. Fook off with your canteen story you mongs.

The Football League need to be very careful here. Pompey are spinning another web of deceit, masked by smoke and mirrors to try to get that Golden share. They need to keep very focused on protecting the interests of the other 23 clubs in the Championship, and not let the DCFSB's hoodwink them. Will they service a CVA when getting the money to do so is contingent on future events - this is not a common scenario. They are currently a busted flush. How far would you trust Pompey and Chanrai to do the right thing? Surely they won't promise one thing to get the golden share, then once having secured it, do something else instead? Just dock them 20 points for coming out of admin without a 'normal' CVA (that has been settled in the conventional way out of available funds) and everyone can move on.

Mate - seriously. Wait until he is at least six or seven. You want him to remember his first game don't you? That will be special for the rest of his life.

IMO Hacker Young won't let AA continue to trade the DFCSB's if Chainrai walks away. The losses are just unsustainable, even to a big firm like Hacker. So this really could be the end game - unless AA is bluffing about Chinrai. If it is the end, can I just say that the loss of the 'local rivalry' is for me a small price to pay and I will be cracking one open, before dancing merrily on their grave. I feel sorry for Mack, who I reckon is the only decent Pompey fan i have come across, ever. The rest of you fish botherers can swivel.

Marc Wilson went to stoke for 4M I believe and they got those two plus about a mill in readies. Unfortunately they failed to get the paperwork in on time for lawrence as it all took place right up against the window so he's on a sort of loan deal at the moment. The combined salaries of Kitson and Lawrence are about 40K as widely reported at the time and confirmed by AA.

2 free tickets available for Saturday against the Jets- first two to post on here get them as per usual. Thanks to Matt. Also 6 free tickets available for the Mariners game Wednesday night. I will be going after work (finally found a job!!!) so I'm calling shotgun on the first one. First 5 to post on here that they want one get the rest. Will let you know about picking up the tickets asap - I can't go Saturday but brightspark is going with my 7 year old lad. Probably not to Kitty's though. Probably be a Kitty's meet up on Wednesday night, but might be a few there Saturday too, not sure. Finally I am putting on a Nelson Muntz voice, pointing at Pompey, and saying Ha Ha! -
Would be happy with a point but think we've got a great chance of nicking it. We are on the verge of being unplayable in this division. But knowing Saints we'll stuff it up and end up well entrenched in the bottom half of Division 3. A good test for us at this stage.

“The league are saying Portpin have to waive their securities in favour of the Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA) payments, which is never going to happen in a million years,” said a frustrated Andronikou. “It is rather like in the Liverpool situation for the Premier League to ask the Royal Bank of Scotland to waive its £280million. There is absolutely no difference in the two scenarios. “The league know the situation we are in. We have no cash flow, and as administrators we cannot continue to trade with thin air. They have put us in a position where it is virtually impossible to keep trading as a club. “I get the feeling that the Football League and Premier League are either completely naive or they are telling us to shut Portsmouth Football Club. “The Football League know Mr Chainrai, he has been vetted by them and they are happy with him. They also have an undertaking from him to provide £5m to the club. In the past they have asked for everything from the purchaser – now they have asked for one thing too many.” A league statement read: “As with any club that goes into administration, the Football League are focused on ensuring that any takeover delivers a sustainable future for the club that is fair to creditors and fans of all clubs. This is what our requirements in this case aim to achieve.” Andronikou will inform Chainrai of the league’s decision today, and fully expects the Hong Kong businessman to end his interest in buying Pompey. Chainrai has already made it clear he only wants the club short-term to try to restore stability, and then sell it on to someone with long-term plans for the club. But the bleak prospect is that Pompey, founded in 1898, may have only days left before being forced out of business. “The only thing I can see now is for the purchaser to reject the Football League demands and walk away, and if he has anyone advising him, then I am sure that is what they will say,” said Andronikou. “Why would anyone want to buy the club under these circumstances? “If the Football League want us to close the club I wish they were more direct in their approach, and just tell us to do it. I am not going to continue in this situation, and it is not a case of ‘will not’ it is more a case of ‘cannot’. “We cannot trade into next month. By the end of this month we will not have sufficient funds to pay wages. There is no one else out there prepared to buy the club and provide the working capital to keep us going and satisfy these impossible terms. YOU SIGNED KITSON AND LAWRENCE ON 40 GRAND A WEEK YOU GIMP, NOT THE FL.

Shocking pre season did for Pardew - resulted in a terrible start. Players not ready and no real tactical direction it seemed. Surprised he was sacked as I felt he could have turned it around. Adkins doing fine at the moment. Huddersfield will be a challenge though. A defeat would be a set back and push us firmly back into the bottom half of Division 3.

Time to accept that it is unlikely we will go up
Kingsbridge Saint replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
At the time the thread was started the comment was valid. Since then we have delivered results beyond most peoples expectations, considering we were in turmoil. The fact that we now clearly have a much better chance of promotion than when the thread started is irrelevant, and does not detract from peoples assessments at the time the thread was started. I think you will find the bookies have taken a similar view and have adjusted their odds accordingly. -
Hope Lawrence breaks his leg, the ****.
-
I know people in the insolvency business who are telling me exactly that.
-
Good win and grounds for optimism for sure. But this is Saints. Lets see how we go at Huddersfield. We are mid table in Division 3.
-
Rumour has it that the CVA is unworkable and about to collapse and Chanrai about to walk away as the FL refuse to hand over the golden share.
-
Come on Saints - keep the momentum going. I would take a 1-0. Don't give a rats about the performance, just the result. It's all that matters right now as we try to scrap our way back to a stable position in mid table from which to push on. The pretty stuff can come later.
-
This is so obviously the plan. I can't believe the Football League are standing by while Cheats FC attempt to do the same in the Championship as they did in the PL. Is there any precedence for seeking an agreement with your creditors after trading insolvently whilst still subject to a CVA? Or does AA"s firm cop the bill?

28 degrees and sunny here in Brisbane. Might be different by the time the thread opens.
-
Storm in a teacup I reckon. OK so he might have given someone a clip - big deal. Hope his hand is OK and he plays Saturday.
-
Punch just needs to practice kicking a ball against a wall repeatedly to get a feel for how it comes off his boot. His shooting is woeful and is due to having poor body position at address and poor tekkers - which can both be improved with practice.
-
Getting there. Still a bit scatchy but improving. Nearly mid table now - woo hoo.
-
Paolo Sousa's sacking seems harsh after he acceeded to Mandaric's request to let Pompey walk over them.

Just how/why did pre-season turn into such a shambles ?
Kingsbridge Saint replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
The side clearly wasn't ready to start the season - and Pardew has been dismissed. I think there's a link there somehwere.
