  1. Yeah I spotted that in the Metro this morning... bit late for that, methinks. Most people will have already made up their mind which side of the fence they sit on that issue.
  2. Totally agree with you on the captaincy issue, Pothas isn't captain material and his comments in the Echo recently suggest to me that he doesn't really care about the longer form of the game. With that attitude, it's no surprise we've struggled for inspiration and motivation so far this season.
  3. FIFA investigating corruption would be like turkeys voting for Christmas. The only reason the likes of Blatter and Warner are in their positions is because of bribery and vote-rigging.
  4. Well why would they seek to influence referees in a tournament in which they are not participating?
  5. Would be nice of the club to let us know if we're going on tour anywhere...
  6. Careful, you'll end up doing an impersonation of nickh at this rate...
  7. I'm slightly intrigued by this idea that Spain and Russia will collude to bribe referees at the world cup, considering Russia didn't even qualify...
  8. To be honest, I don't think they actually have any control over their own website anymore. When I resigned, I handed over full control of the site to someone they'd brought in to work on it. By the look of it, he's done sod all with it (and it's been hacked as well... genius), and assuming he's not involved in the Trust anymore, I wonder if they'll actually be able to get control of the content back again!
  9. Just out of interest, how do you know this? As the trust is an Industrial and Provident Society, not a limited company, there are nowhere near the same level of disclosure requirements. Having not been involved for more than 2 years, I don't know the details off the top of my head, but I would imagine they only legally have to notify their members of AGMs, appointments, etc, and any public disclosure is entirely optional.
  10. Not yet, weekend was busier than expected (decorating ). Will do it at lunchtime.
  11. There's no obligation to announce anything to anybody other than their members, as far as I'm aware. Neither you or I know whether there's been a vote from the current members or not.
  12. Have they quoted me as that? FFS
  13. Already done, sadly. Moved to Manchester
  14. They've quoted me on something, but used a really old photo.
  15. 2004 called and asked for its photo back
  16. I'm intrigued as to what you would consider a major enough rumour that the club should respond to...
  17. He was at the Football Writers Association dinner in London last night, so probably just meeting someone for lunch as he was already up there.
  18. Wood plays. Carberry, Adams, Vince, Ervine, McKenzie, Pothas, Dawson, Cork, Herath, Wood, Tomlinson
  19. Believe what you want, I'm past caring. If you genuinely believe the events of the last week are down to the Echo making things up, you need serious help.
  20. I'm certain that he did.
  21. Yes, as I was saying from the start, but apparently that makes me an Echo employee Well the only person who knows for sure is Cortese himself, and let's face it, there's not a cat in hell's chance he'd admit to changing his mind based on fan support as it would a) implicitly give credit to the Echo, and b) demonstrate a lack of conviction in his own decision-making. We'll never know what made him change his mind, but I'm certainly thankful that he did.
  22. No, we conduct our business privately
