You really have no idea how the media works. Why do you think Solent have been first with the vast majority of Saints-related news since the takeover? Blackmore is very pally with Cortese (some may argue that if Cortese told him to jump, he'd ask how high) and as a result gets first scoop on all the news.

Like who? Sheffield Wednesday (6th May) Plymouth (17th April) Peterborough (8th March) Millwall (7th May) Charlton Athletic (before 31st March) Swindon Town (before 1st May) Huddersfield Town (before 2nd April) Colchester United (8th March) Brentford (22nd April) Walsall (article undated, but STs on sale) Bristol Rovers (before 30th April) MK Dons (undated, on sale now) Brighton & Hove Albion (4th May) Carlisle United (21st April) Yeovil Town (22nd April) Oldham Athletic (10th May) Leyton Orient (28th April) Exeter City (before 30th April) Tranmere Rovers (2nd April) Notts County (before 5th May) Bournemouth (no dates mentioned, Bournemouth-supporting mate renewed his ST months ago) Rochdale (before 29th April) Hartlepool are the only other club, apart from Saints, not to have announced ST details of those clubs currently in League One or who will definitely be playing in League One next season.

On the subject of season tickets, I can understand the delay insomuch that until three weeks ago, it wasn't certain which division we'd be playing in next season. However, common sense would dictate that the club would have been finalising the details for release as soon as we knew one way or the other. As soon as the Carlisle game finished (and Huddersfield had won at Stockport), they should have been preparing to send out renewal forms the following week. As you rightly say, if Pardew goes, the feel-good factor goes with him, which will affect season ticket sales. If they'd released details three weeks ago, they'd have got a lot of early renewals, and then even if they got rid of Pardew, they'd have that money in the bank. All well and good Cortese not being bothered about making friends - that's his lookout - but alienating your customers is something his predecessors were pretty good at, and look how that turned out...

I'll just leave this here for Billy Davies...

I suspect they will vote on whether to adopt a similar rule to the Premier League regarding public disclosure of owners. I expect the only vote against will come from a Mr Ken Bates...
-
I expect they would look for alternative employment. There are lots of airlines.

113 unbeaten runs for the 9th wicket so far

If?

Haven't most of the other BA staff been trained as cabin crew for when the strikes take effect? Having staff that are able to multi-task and are reliable could render "specialist" cabin crew rather redundant, with the strike only serving to show BA that they'll actually be better off without them...

Lots of sums of 2 being added together to make 25, I expect...

And then weren't that interested when they subsequently got to the final...

Got to say that's a pretty pathetic response from the club. Their silence is deafening, I'm assuming they think people will stop talking about it if they just try to ignore it...
-
Except they haven't, yet. It was initially rejected by a majority vote.

Yes. It would be fair to say I'm not overly impressed.

I managed to track down a copy of the programme at half-time, read it from cover to cover and there didn't seem to be anything untoward. The suggestion of "printed on the wrong paper" is nonsense, it was as normal. The only even *slightly* potentially controversial comment in Pardew's column was when he gave credit to (paraphrasing from memory, might not be 100%) "Nicola Cortese and everyone at the club for mobilising 44,000 Saints fans to Wembley". Given that we're well aware that Cortese has a bit of an ego and likes to get as much credit as possible for anything, I guess there's the potential that he felt he deserved more credit than he was being given there, but even that theory is clutching at straws somewhat. Very strange.

Well that was exactly what happened 10 years ago, Portsmouth Football Club became Portsmouth City Football Club.

£32m, assuming all of the first year's parachute payment is withheld by the Premier League to satisfy football creditors, and of course they won't be able to touch it until the 2011/12 season, by which time they'll probably have been relegated again.
-
Haven't the Premier League already said they'll divert parachute payments to footballing creditors before Pompey see any of it?
-
Not much, about £2m a year, I think.

105 overs in the day, bowled 30.2 overs so far today, lose a couple for the change of innings. That said, it might be slightly fewer overs on day 4...
-
All out for 273. Notts have about 70 overs to score 245 runs to win...
